At the London Stationery Show, Coffeenotes founder Sarah caught up with our papermaking partner, James Cropper.

Every year in the UK, 2.5 billion coffee cups are thrown away. Using the innovative CupCycling™ process, we rescue these cups from landfill. 95% of the cup waste is converted into our bespoke luxury writing paper, while the remaining plastic lining is stripped and recovered for energy.

We visited the wonderful Hay Festival over the weekend, where we are thrilled to be partnering with them to make their stationery out of our bespoke recycled coffee cup paper. It was absolutely amazing to see everyone so engaged with what we do.

Hay Festival are using a re-use keep cup system for their hot drinks at the festival that can be washed out to reduce the need for single use coffee cups.

With the weather we currently have there is nothing better than spending a day at the festival. We highly recommend it.

WE WON! 🏆🥂 We are absolutely over the moon to announce that Coffeenotes has won Notebook/Journal of the Year at the Stationery Awards 2026!

When we launched Coffeenotes, our family mission was simple: to prove that genuinely sustainable, zero-waste stationery could sit comfortably alongside the finest luxury paper brands in the world.

To have our Mother Earth Moor & Apricot Layflat Notebooks take home the top prize against such incredible competition is a dream come true for our small Dorset factory.

The judges loved the beautiful exposed sewn spine (which allows it to lay perfectly flat on your desk) and, of course, our signature paper made from recycled coffee cups. ☕️♻️

A massive, heartfelt thank you to the judges, and to every single one of you who has bought a notebook, left a review, or supported our circular-economy mission. You made this happen!

Your stationery could be made out of chocolate 🍫

When cocoa beans are dried and roasted to make chocolate, the husks are usually discarded. Our paper-making partners rescue these husks, micronise them, and creatively {re}use them to produce the material we then make into the covers of our Cocoa collection.

Every Cocoa cover contains 15% organic cocoa residue, giving it a beautiful, natural texture and a rich, earthy colour. And inside? Our signature fountain-pen-friendly paper, made entirely from {re}cycled coffee cups.

This Easter swap foil for fibre and give a present that’s kind to the planet.
