The Workshop at Pedalling Squares- one of Financial Times’ top five cycling cafes in Britain. You can expect a warm welcome and the perfect coffee every time you drop by. As well as a building, we share a passion for steel and vintage bikes. Our Retro Recycle project breathes new life into old bicycles, taking donations from the public and returning a share of the profits to charity and community

groups. A Brassworks bike has charm and character, as well as capability. It’s built to be ridden as well as admired, with practical, rider-friendly features. We believe bikes should be built to last, and so should relationships. We’ll take time to understand what you need from a bike. We want to see you ride on your terms, not ours. If you need a nudge to get out there we’re here to help, with servicing starting at just £15, regular guided rides, maintenance courses and friendly free advice. All this at a top rated cycle-friendly coffee shop where adventures begin and end every day.

The intersection between quirky bike culture and quirky car culture has puzzled me in the past, so tribal we sometimes are as folk. No longer. Instead of Pedalling Squares I’m off to Santa Pod to show off my weird square car with Square Society. Closed Sunday, back on Tuesday with a full diary of repairs in the book.
