At the Glenfiddich Championship this year, no fewer than seven of the competitors were using Bannatyne products, which gives us faith that our product is played at the highest level of solo piping! Several players were playing both Bannatyne Bag and Moisture control systems and several using the DriFlo system which is gaining in popularity all the time. Thank you for your faith in our products.

Congratulations to our own Willie McCallum who won the Glenfiddich Championship on 29th October. Willie took 1st place in the MSR and 3rd in the Piobaireachd to secure the overall title for the 9th time. Willie was playing his signature WMC Hide Bag and DriFlo Moisture Control System.
Congratulations also to Callum Beaumont who was placed 1st in the Piobaireachd and was playing a custom Hide Bag and DriFlo MCS.

It has been a busy year for our Pipe Band customers as well as solo pipers. Congratulations to all who have had success over the season but also everyone taking part, especially after such a trying period over the last 3 years. We are grateful for your loyalty and are committed providing products that work at the highest levels of piping. It is so good to see everyone out there and involved in playing again. Congratulations to Stuart Liddell, Willie McCallum and Jack Lee for their success at last week's Glenfiddich Championship held 31st October 2020 at Blair Castle in Perthsire. This is the highest solo competition in the world of solo piping.
Stuart was the overall winner coming 2nd in the MSR and 2nd in the Piobaireachd event to secure his 3rd overall win.
Willie won the MSR for the 9th time in his career, extending his own record in that event, and Jack won the Piobaireachd event for the 6th time in his career.
We are delighted that Stuart was playing a Bannatyne Hide bag created for him recently, the 2nd win with the Bannatyne Bag (he won the Silver Chanter in August). Willie plays the WMC Hide bag and DriFlo system, and Jack uses the DriFlo system.
Others in the contest playing our products were Bruce Gandy (4th in MSR) and Callum Beaumont. Callum won the prestigious P/M Alasdair Gillies event in August.

Our colour changing gels need to be replaced after 6 months of heavy constant use. Often our customers are unsure of where they can be purchased. They can be found on our website on this link, and there are enough gels in the bag for a Canister or Dri-Flo system

"I have played and competed with the WMC Bannatyne bag for a number of years now. My last one lasted 5 years and a month. I find it the most comfortable pipe bag I've ever played. I have also been playing their Dri-Flo Moisture control for the drone stocks. The Dri-Flo is lightweight , flexible, and easy to monitor the gels to see if they need recharged/dried out. Probably the greatest test of their products is when I pipe for over 600 dancers at The Cowal Highland Gathering over 3 days ( a job I have done for many many years). For those that have encountered the multi seasonal weather that Cowal is known for - under the very worst conditions The Bannatyne products helped me maintain an instrument that I was proud to play and that is really key to my business as the sound and quality of my instrument is a direct extension of my product."

These words were sent to us by Donald MacPhee, one of the most knowledgeable and genial characters in the Solo Piping and Pipe Band world.
It would be 100% accurate to day that Donald has graced every possible stage in piping and pipe bands. He is a Gold Medallist at the Northern Meeting, and a former winner in the light music at every gathering. He is a multi World Pipe Band Championship winner with the Field Marshal Montgomery.
Couple this with the fact that he is one of the finest reedmakers in the world, and you can say that Donald knows his way around a bagpipe.
Donald is also one of the Senior RSPBA Judges and has judged at the highest level in the Pipe Band World.

We are happy to highlight the outstanding performance of Glenn Brown at the 2019 Glenfiddich Championship where he took 1st place in the Piobaireachd section and 3rd overall.

Glenn has been playing a Bannatyne Bag for several years now and he says this about us:
