From poetry workshops to family book clubs, Melina Turner-Deeks is helping people across North Tyneside discover the wellbeing benefits of reading and writing through her business, The Literature Lass.
Like many new business owners, she had a strong idea but wasn't sure where to start with the practical side of running a business. Through the Enterprising North Programme, delivered by us at TEDCO and funded by North East Mayor Kim McGuinness and the North East Mayoral Strategic Authority, Melina received support with business planning, cash flow forecasting and secured a start-up grant through Business North Tyneside.
Today, she's helping people of all ages connect through books, writing and creativity, from poetry workshops to her new parent-and-child Summer Bookworms sessions.
