Carrier Company

Carrier Company From smocks, raincapes and sleeveless jerkins to canvas bags, log carriers. The carrier company was formed in 1995.

The creation of one woman, Tina Guillory who works from her 17th century brick and flint farmhouse, close to the great expanses of marsh and the huge beaches of the north norfolk coast. Her designs take the textures and inspirations of her world. Canvas sails of the dinghies in the creeks, weatherproof fishermans slops and oilskins, forged steel from country blacksmiths, plus the requirements of f

amily and friends. The range is gradually expanding and now includes more clothing; however, everything continues to be well tried and tested, to be really useful, functional, good looking, and made to last! Made by local people, all enthusiastically involved in the growth of the company the hardwearing bags are ideal for shopping, gardening or gathering cockles or driftwood. Aprons, carriers, kneelers and tool bags speak of long days in the garden. Weatherproof jerkins and hardwearing smocks are great for working or walking. The Norfolk fire pipe brings the dying embers in the grate back to life. This range continues to expand with new ideas and requests from customers, friends and family. The Carrier Company wares can be seen and bought at fairs or you can purchase online from this site and by mail order. The small staff are very friendly and willing to answer your queries. Items are carefully packed for posting in the flint shed beside Tina's house while her hens cluck among the wild roses in her garden.

A constant element of where we are is that the weather is never consistent.
This breathable, washable rain cape is light enough to layer and folds up small enough to stash anywhere. We have been making these by hand in Norfolk since 1995.

And, in case it’s of interest: Everything we do is only ever made in the British Isles, and we are always looking for ways to improve our supply chain. We source our cotton with companies such as because they hold certification that garantees their fabrics are free from harmful dyes, heavy metals and toxic chemicals. And although is is more expensive to make things the way we do, it’s worth it to know we are part of a movement that champions strict environmental enforcement and workers rights. As Tina our founder (and my mum) always says, Good looking and made to last. ®

Dig your fingers into the soil, breathe it in, feel happy. Genuinely, the simplest things are the most rewarding; we’ve been making these clothes, with the smallest of tweaks and improvements for 30 years, always on home soil. And also it’s been scientifically proven that breathing in the soil releases pheromones that act as a natural antidepressant. There you are!
