Tried to post this yesterday but the apps weren’t having it! As seen in my story yesterday I’m on a wee scary journey on a new venture! Please have a read of my blog posted on stories and on .door.studios and give us a follow there for updates and news as well as maker applications!

A beautiful sunny day in Greenock today, so an outdoor activity was definitely required! ☀️🌿

We went on a little nature hunt for flowers that were beginning to turn, gathered some leaves, grabbed our hammers, and created some awesome botanical prints using the Japanese Hapa Zome technique 🌸🍃🔨

Such a simple, mindful way to connect with nature and get creative using the colours and textures all around us.

Give it a go, you only need:

* Flowers & leaves
* Fabric or paper
* A hammer or mallet
* A little curiosity ✨

Every print comes out completely unique!

Afternoon in the garden 🌿☀️

Spent the day planting and pottering about, and honestly gardening is such a calming joy to me. I really think it helps my ADHD too, watching the little changes every day and just the whole peaceful “pottering” aspect of it all.

Penny and Arthur helped get a new reclaimed cabinet planter ready for some veggies, and we planted out some seedlings that were finally ready to go, along with marigolds and nasturtiums in the desperate hope of deterring the pesky slugs 🐌😂

I rescued an acer from the reduced aisle in Morrisons, soaked up the sunshine with the kids, while Maggie and Baxter were never far behind 🐾

Hubby cooked up a storm of chicken wings and fries for dinner, and now we’re just waiting for the kids to settle into bed so I can curl up with a TV show, and a Hugo Spritz mocktail 🍹✨

Here’s to more sunny days like this 💛

My groove came back at 7.30 tonight… typical ADHD 😅

It’s been a slow week creatively for me personally. I’ve been slowly working away at bits and pieces, but tonight everything finally just clicked into place.

I’ve felt really drained this week, and in a neurodiverse house more often than not, if one of us goes down, we all go down. Between the emotions of Penny’s school visit, my bestie’s exhibition opening, that time of the month, a bank holiday that somehow included the dentist 😩, squabbles, and us all feeding off each other’s stress… it’s been a funny old week.

But tonight, creatively, I was in bliss. Proper stress-free, in-the-zone bliss ✨

Even with the nighttime “I’m not sleepy” visits from the kids, I showed Arthur what I’d been working on and the ring ready for the polisher, and he just looked at me and said:

“it’s beautiful mummy” 🥹

Ahhh… honestly, isn’t that just worth everything? ☺️

Anyway, funny week, busy weekend ahead with a market tomorrow and workshops on Sunday, but I’m hopeful for some family time on Monday ☀️

A few of my favourite finds from the past few weeks ✨

Pottery shards, rocks, toys, weird things, cool things, and all sorts of curious treasures that caught my eye along the way.

Some of these pieces will become part of future artworks, transformed into something entirely new. Others are simply too interesting to let go of and will stay in my ever-growing collection.

And yes… I definitely needed more rocks 🪨😂 But honestly, who doesn’t love a good rock?

Jumping on this trend and bringing the brovis down with me! Hahaha 🤣 the 90s were class though! Loving the revival and all the nostalgic feels!

Today started so well and then one single email completely tipped my brain into overload 🫠

I’ve been quietly working away behind the scenes on something really big and really exciting recently, but this email brought up an issue I’ve been trying to solve for months and honestly… my brain just said “nope” 😅

Maybe it’s information fatigue.
Maybe the election.
Maybe a busy workshop weekend.
Maybe just. Too. Much

So instead of forcing myself through it, I left my phone at home and went a wander with hubby 🌿

Grabbed a sketchbook, plasticine and an ink pad and made tiny textures and prints while we walked, ended up in Newmains for coffee and a roll, and for once neither of us sat scrolling while we were there.

It reminded me how much constant notifications and information can quietly build up in your head without you even noticing.

I rely on my phone so much for running my business, but today felt like a wee reminder that it’s okay to step away from it sometimes too 🖤

Ended the day reading my book and making Hama bead creations with the kids ✨
A much softer ending to the day than the start.

Does anyone else ever hit that point where your brain just fully taps out from too much input lately?

This week has felt pretty special, and I’m trying to hold onto that feeling and focus on the good. The sunshine definitely helps, doesn’t it?

There have been so many little things, and not even just these, that have made me happy lately. I think I’ve always been quite a happy person, but the last year has been tough for my mental health. Now though, I feel like I’m being true to myself and happy with who and where I am, maybe even more than before.

I think my creative practice reflects that too, finding beauty in the broken, the unusual, and the overlooked. Realising that things don’t have to be perfect to be meaningful. Sometimes the simplest moments are the ones that stay with us most, my kids drawing, signs of life, new beginnings, sunlight through a window, small acts of kindness.

Those little moments remind me to slow down, smile, and find happiness in the small things, because usually, those end up being the best parts of all.

It was incredible to be surrounded by such inspiring materials, creativity, and a shared focus on sustainability. The experience has given me so much more confidence in my practice and helped me work through some sticky problem-solving areas I’d been struggling with.
Huge thank you for your guidance and for the opportunity to take part — I’ve come away feeling inspired and excited to keep creating ♻️💍💚

Fresh off the bench today ✨

A little collection of silver studs and a sea pottery ring, featuring a sweet flower I found at South Queensferry 🌸 Every piece of silver here has been recycled from broken jewellery—giving old treasures a brand new life ♻️

Feeling so much more confident lately and had such a productive day… the sunshine definitely helps ☀️
