Hello!
This is my photo for the Worthing Festival by
To be honest I was dreading having my photo taken but Lorna is such a fantastic photographer and such a super talented and lovely lady that I felt relaxed straight away!
I love how she has captured me in my happy place, creating!
My creative practice has always been rooted in making things that feel playful, tactile and full of personality. I’m a footwear and accessory designer and maker, with a background in millinery, and over the years I’ve worked across a range of creative roles—from making hats for Philip Treacy to designing shoes for Irregular Choice Now, alongside creating accessories, I run workshops that allow people to make their own pieces, so it’s always been about bringing joy, a sense of play and a little bit of sparkle.
For me, creativity is essential, it brings me calm and focus. At the workshops I’ve seen people arrive on their own and leave having made something and connected with others. Those moments feel important—because creativity gives people a way to come together, feel part of something, and a connection to where we live and that’s what makes a place feel like a community.
I hope to see you Worthing Festival this weekend where all of the community banners that have been made in my workshops Toad in the Hole, Worthing will be on display hanging between the trees!!
