Well, its been a busy 4 months making these very special 4 red-nissa-nalbound hats for a special customer. Here's a little sneak-peak. Today, they were lovingly parcelled up and sent on their way to the USA 🇺🇸 😀
Really pleased with how they have turned out, and I was mega happy to find some gorgeous bronze 'sleigh-bells' for the tails, to go with the super soft red wool. 🎅🏻

Hello Everyone 👋

It's that time of year again folks, where I'm off for the month of May doing my day job, as an archaeological Finds Officer with the undergraduate fieldschool. Teaching students all the varied joys of field archaeology, as well as being the resident Finds Specialist onsite. Its looking to be a great season! 🏺⛏🔎

Etsy shop is on a 'makers-break' so any orders placed will be dispatched in early June. Still bimbling through custom orders. But you know where I am if you have any questions.

Hey Folks 👋 been AWOL for a bit, as I had a lovely break over Easter seeing family. Now fully back into it at the day job, getting ready for our yearly Archaeology Fieldschool with throughout all of May.🏺

So popped my Etsy Shop on a Makers break, which means you can still order things, just won't be dispatched until beginning of June.

But currently bimbling on with a lovely custom order ❤ I'm here, just emphasis on the of as I've got allot of other things going on at the moment too. So to be able to pace myself and get through what is turning out to be an exciting year! 😁

I can be a bit like a kid in a candy shop at the Jorvik Viking Festival traders event. So it takes all my restraint not to buy up all the lovely items my fellow trader buddies have brought with them 😄
However, this year, I could not resist these early medieval 'snips' from Ragnars Market . I have never ever seen a pair, so well made and so functional and useful. Mega pleased with them and for any crafter, I would highly recommend you getting a pair! Gorgeous historical haul from Jorvik Viking Festival 10th Century Traders 2026! 😊

I'm very thankful to have had the opportunity to be involved in the Jorvik Viking Festival here in York for the last 16years, in some way, shape or form. 🙏I've met some incredible people, some of who are now life long friends, as well as meeting new folks every year! 🫂💜
From wearing chainmaile outside the Jorvik Viking Centre⚔, to setting a ship on fire🏹🔥, becoming a Viking Trader 💰 and now the Nalbinding Girl-Boss 🪡🧶💪

I've just about recovered from last week, and ill be cracking on with orders soon. With some new items going up on my Etsy shop this weekend too. 😊 Thanks for the adventures everyone! 💪🧶🪡

That's that! In the blink of an eye, the 10th Century traders event is finished for 2026! 🎉
What a wonderful few days its been to catch up with friends and have some lovely chats with members of the public. 🧶🪡🥰
Thank you so much to the awesome Jorvik Viking Centre for inviting me back this year, it was glorious, as always! Thank you to the awesome Merchant Adventurers' Hall folks, who always make the traders feel so at home 🏡 😊💜

Wow! What a wonderfully busy day trading! So many people wanted to learn Nalbinding today. The Starter Kits, Books and bone needles have been flying off the table today! 📕🪡🧶
