108 mala project Handmade malas for meditation & yoga with wood and stone that are mindfully sourced from conflict free farms committed and dedicated to sustainability.

108 mala project focuses on making handmade knotted mala necklaces and wrist malas used for meditation and yoga. Our woods and gemstones are mindfully sourced from conflict free family farms committed and dedicated to long term sustainability. We have designed our knotted malas to balance and strengthen your mind, body, soul and spirit energy. Each of our malas are handmade by us (Cara and Adam) a

nd we have made them all with love. A mantra has been said each time we string a new bead and tie a knot. We want to be considerate to all our customers and their requirements, so all our jewelry has been made with vegetarian hands in a smoke free, calm and peaceful environment. We are two Canadians that have been living in China for the last 12 years and now live on the sunny island of Hainan. We have traveled every corner of Asia in search of the perfect mala supplies, gemstones and wood beads. We just wanted to say THANKS for being our customer and allowing us to share our passion with you. Namaste,

Adam & Cara Harkness

The boys and I headed out to Indian Falls to check on the beavers, hike the trail, and see the waterfall. We noticed the trail was marked closed, but walked up to the trailhead to have a look. Sure enough, everything beyond was taped off with caution tape and additional closures.

Looks like all the recent rain has made conditions unsafe, so we’ll wait for things to dry out and head back another day.

The waterfall isn’t going anywhere — just gives us an excuse for another adventure soon! 😊

Coming home from camping this morning, we spotted a raccoon on the side of the road. Naturally, I did what any completely reasonable person would do… I jumped out with my camera and went in for the perfect wildlife video. 🦝📸

I slowly got closer, trying to convince my new furry friend that we were about to become besties.

Turns out, he had other plans.

Instead of posing for the camera, he started marching toward me while hissing like a tiny, angry forest dragon. 😳

Needless to say, my new friend was not interested in a big hug, a selfie, or discussing our future friendship.

I got the video. He kept his personal space. Everyone won. 😂

Last night was supposed to be one of the best nights of the year to catch the Aurora Borealis. 🌌✨

Between 11 PM and midnight, we were sitting right in the red zone, watching the skies and hoping for an unforgettable light show. Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other plans, and the northern lights never fully appeared for us.

But all was not lost! We were treated to a beautiful green glow stretching across the bay, a subtle reminder that there is still magic to be found, even when things don’t go exactly as planned. 💚

Sometimes the adventure is in the waiting, the anticipation, and the quiet moments spent under the stars.

Did anyone else manage to catch the aurora last night?
