Does this look like a building — or a city suspended in mid-air?
The Bank of Georgia Headquarters is one of Tbilisi’s most recognisable late-Soviet landmarks. Completed in 1975 for the Ministry of Automobile Roads, it was designed by Georgian architects Giorgi Chakhava and Zurab Jalaghania.
Its office blocks projects from tall concrete cores like bridges or tree branches, leaving open space between and beneath the structure. Today, the building is the working headquarters of the Bank of Georgia.
