Charity begins at home. It’s no point being nice to outsiders when your family becomes your enemy at home. You curse, swear, nitpick over the smallest thing and never have a good word for them. You play mind games. Be careful. The Almighty is aware of all that you do.

It was narrated from Abu Bakrah (RA) that when the Prophet (peace be upon him) heard news that made him happy, or for which one should be happy, he would fall down prostrate in gratitude to Allah, the Blessed and Exalted. (Sunan Ibn Majah, vol. 1, Book 5, Hadith 1458)

SubhanAllah! Imagine thanking Allah (swt) in such a way every time you even hear something that makes you happy! Alhamdulillah for our Prophet's (SAW) happiness and example of pure gratitude. We should all remember that all good is from Allah (swt) and so if anything brings us joy, then be grateful for it and not take it for granted.

the following are defects that harden the heart, The love of leadership is the worst of these defects.
Jesting, backbiting, bad sitting companions, Indecency, slandering, and evil soul (are defects that harden the heart).
Likewise passionate desires of mind should not be followed, and in worldly things, show abstinence without always following.
Be like a house carpet and withdraw from everyone, Don't enjoy vain talks nor disputes (of people).
Take your eyes off people's faults, And as much as possible pay them no attention.
Give charity out of your wealth for Allah's sake, Visit Muslim tombs without cease.
Don't ever swear except you limit (your swearing) To the will (of Allah) whenever you do swear.
