Where is 3-month-old Mariama?

Police in Banjulinding and Mandanaring are searching for a woman who allegedly kidnapped a 3-month-old baby in Lamin Daranka on Sunday, May 1.

According to a family member, the incident happened around 5pm when Mariama Badjie was being watched by her 11-year-old sister.

"Her mother was away at the market to buy food for iftar. The little girl took the baby to a nearby shop, where she met the woman. She took the baby from the little girl and sent her to another shop to buy milk for her. When the girl returned both Mariama and the woman were nowhere to be seen" he said.

When asked whether there was no one around when the woman was sending the little girl to the next shop, the family member responded: "It was around 5pm when we were all in the masjid praying."

Anyone with information is asked to contact the nearest police station.
