🐉 Dragon Boat Festival Traditions 🐉 Apart from eating rice dumplings to commemorate Qu Yuan, there are other lesser-known traditions on Dragon Boat Festival. For example, it is necessary to exorcise evils and disasters that day, because the fifth month of the lunar calendar was called the "evil month" and the fifth day was the "evil day." Therefore, the fifth day of May is the evil month and the evil day, which is the most taboo day of the ancients. Therefore, traditionally on Dragon Boat Festival people wear sachets, draws patterns on the forehead, and wraps colorful silk threads in order to repel mosquitoes, ward off evil spirits, fight off plagues, and pray for long life.
This year on Dragon Boat Festival, LockCha will provide pigments for everyone's to draw on their foreheads to relive the tradition. We will also be selling incense sachets and sticks made by Hong Kong Traditional Incense Culture at all LockCha locations. Their incenses are hand-made locally, with high quality, with a concept like LockCha’s. Finally, we will also be selling rice dumplings that you can "drink”, Naka and Badashan "rice dumplings" green tea. After ten years of aging, they are sweet and pure.
If you’re coming on the Dragon Boat Festival, please make a reservation for lunch, thank you for your support.
