【Museum Case Reference: Hong Kong Museum of History Kong】
Venue: Hong Kong Museum of History (Tsim Sha Tsui), Hong Kong
Background History:
The Hong Kong Museum of History (HKMH) originated in the City Hall Art Gallery and Museum.
It was founded in 1962 and was renamed the City Museum and Art Gallery in 1969.
In 1975, it was split into the Hong Kong Museum of Art and the Hong Kong Museum of History. The latter was initially housed in rented premises in Star House, Tsim Sha Tsui.
In 1983, it was relocated to a temporary site in Kowloon Park.
In 1998 to Present, it was moved to its present premises on Chatham Road South, Tsim Sha Tsui.
Purpose of the project:
After the audio replacement renovation, the venue now delivers high-quality speech intelligibility and with clear well-balanced music throughout the exhibition area. The system is a fully scalable network-audio ecosystem, featuring discreet, museum-appropriate speaker placement that blends seamlessly with the space.
Dante-enabled PoE speakers are being deployed in both Phase 1 (Multifaceted Hong Kong Exhibition Series) and Phase 2 ('Hong Kong Story' Exhibition) to support future expansion and long-term growth of the audio infrastructure.

Phase 2: Introduced ‘Hong Kong Story’ Four Main Themes in total 10 galleries at G/F
Theme 1: Roots of Culture – Unity in Diversity in Chinese Civilisation and Historical Origins of Hong Kong
Theme 2: East Meets West – Historical Changes, A Modern City & Fusion of Chinese and Western Cultures
Theme 3: Coalition against Japanese Aggression – Hong Kong’s Joint Resistance
Theme 4: Hong Kong as a Global Metropolis – Social Changes, Life in the Metropolis, Economic Achievements and Walking with the Motherland
Focus: Through immersive historical settings, the exhibition vividly brings to life the resilience of the Hong Kong people and their deep-rooted ties with the motherland.
