「書，為什麼仍然值得存在」Irma Boom的微型書實驗《Book Activist》正正回應了這問題。這本書曾多次絕版，完整收錄她 40多年來設計超過500本書的精華，精選720張珍貴影像，濃縮成一本只有手掌大小的作品。Irma Boom曾說：電子書是沒有身體的數據，而一本實體書，有封面作為皮膚、書脊作為脊椎，內頁則是它的器官。《Book Activist》就像一具充滿生命力的小身體。她希望透過這本書，重新喚醒人們對紙張氣味、翻頁聲、以及書本隨時間留下痕跡的那份「觸覺記憶」。

今年推出的2026年新版，由 MUJI BOOKS出版，並於荷蘭印刷裝訂，將微型書推向新的極限——頁數增加至1,500頁。新版還多了一本粉紅色別冊，由 Irma Boom 親自撰寫並翻譯成英文，不只是導覽手冊，更收錄了主書中的重要文字、她對每件作品的設計思考，以及每一本書背後的故事與註解。

Why do books still matter?” Book Activist, Irma Boom’s iconic miniature book, offers an answer. Once out of print multiple times, it condenses over 40 years of her work, more than 500 book designs and 720 images into a palm sized volume. Boom describes a physical book as a living body: its cover is the skin, its spine the backbone, and its pages the organs. Through Book Activist, she celebrates the tactile experience of books—the smell of paper, the sound of turning pages, and the marks of time.

The new 2026 edition, published by MUJI BOOKS and printed in the Netherlands, expands to 1,500 pages and includes a new pink companion booklet written by Irma Boom, featuring her design notes and commentary on the works.

The colour mixing chart features seven carefully selected Pantone colours from our latest 16 Pantone Colour Sample By pairing every two colours together, it demonstrates a variety of blending effects. We hope this inspires everyone to see that how can create much more depth and variation through colour mixing and gradients, opening up new possibilities and fresh inspiration for colour combinations and design.

The black paper edition is a little hidden gem in this collection. ✨Many of our customers have been curious about printing Pantone colours directly onto black paper. We usually advise against it because the black paper significantly affects the ink colour, resulting in outcomes that can be unpredictable. To satisfy that curiosity, we decided to print these “unpredictable” results as part of this collection. Whether you love the effects or not, they serve as a valuable reference for future design, colour selection, and printing decisions, while also giving you a realistic look at how Pantone colours actually appear on black paper.

✨[16 Pantone Colours Sample] 很多人以為Risograph和Pantone Offset 印刷是兩回事，但其實它們的邏輯非常相似，都是以單色逐層印刷、逐層對位，最後堆疊出豐富的色彩效果。一直以來，不少客人都會問我們，Pantone印出來會是甚麼感覺和有沒有某幾隻常用顏色可以直接參考。畢竟完整的Pantone色版又厚又重，在使用上都不太方便和翻閱。而我們發現，大家反覆使用的其實都是某些特別的顏色。於是，我們把工作室最常被選用的色號整理出來，製作成這張《16色 Pantone Colour Sample》✨除了方便大家貼在牆上隨時參考、快速選色之外，我們亦特意展示不同油墨與紙材碰撞出的效果，希望讓大家能更直觀地感受每一種色彩的魅力。

[Pastel Gradient Tole Bag]
印刷就是不斷的嘗試，因為每一個步驟都有可能影響最終結果，我們之前嘗試過在布上印刷色彩強烈的Grandient，不同的布料都有可能會減低色彩度。這一次我們想在布上嘗試印刷粉色的Gradient。不過印刷粉色其實很難，控制不好便很容易會變得暗啞，不但要控制網點密度也要不斷調整圖片的彩度。經過多次嘗試後，我們終於在布上做到鮮豔度高的粉色，之後我們還加上了一點紙的Texture，希望讓非常平滑的布看起來更多變化。

[Riso Candy]
如果Risograph印刷只能印在紙上，我們想嘗試在這個限制上會不會以另一個方式去呈現紙的可能性，而且要比卡更小更容易去收藏的，於是我們就設計了Riso Candy，這是一個利用Risograph的印刷方法再配合全手工製作的一個紙襟章，紙做的襟章雖然比較脆弱，不過由於那種紙的質感和顏色的質感都不是其他物料能取代，所以雖然製作工序繁多，但我們還是堅持製作，現在已經是第三代的Riso Candy了

If Risograph printing can only be printed on paper, we wanted to try to see if there is another way to present the possibility of paper in this limitation, and it is smaller and easier to collect than cards, so we designed Riso Candy, This is a paper badge that uses the printing method of Risograph and is fully hand-made. The badge made of paper is relatively fragile, but due to the kind of The texture of paper and the texture of the color cannot be replaced by other materials, so although there are many production processes, we still insist on making it, and now it is the third generation of Riso Candy

[Mix colour chart + gradient chart For Riso] 這本是一本關於risograph漸變的書，其實是我們coloursample漸變部份的延伸，我們希望能把risograph的獨特漸變效果展示出來，裡面共有16種兩色的漸變組合＋16種混色配答，另外還有兩張18色的漸變混色圖鑑。這本書將會在大館第四屆BOOKED .hk 展出，有興趣的人可以來參考一下。
