From Glass to Light
Every piece begins with heat.
In the furnace, glass exists in an amorphous, seemingly weightless state: glowing, fluid and constantly moving. There is only a small window of time to respond to it.
Working with glass is a conversation between the maker and the material.
A turn of the hand, the angle of a tool, a little more heat, a moment longer to cool. Each decision is small, but together they begin to define the final form.
There is precision in the process, but also instinct.
Glass cannot simply be forced into place. Its temperature, movement and resistance have to be felt and understood. Through experience, the maker learns when to guide the material and when to let it move.
And when the heat is gone, those fleeting decisions remain.
A curve, a texture, a trace of colour, and a subtle variation in the surface are quiet records of the hands, time and fire that shaped the piece.
At AEfolio, craftsmanship is not about removing every trace of the making process. It is about allowing the character of the material, and the human touch behind it, to remain part of the finished work.
Shaped by hand. Brought to life by light.
