Discover our most exquisite bow collection in South Korea and Shanghai
What began as a bold idea is now becoming a reality: we are bringing one hundred bows to Asia this autumn!
In collaboration with Karl Childs, the 100 BOWS Exhibition will showcase selected pieces from the Paul & Karl Childs collection and the FX TOURTE collection.
Many of the greatest names in bowmaking will be represented in the Exhibition: Tourte, Peccatte (Dominique and François), Simon, Pajeot, Lupot, and others from the older generation, as well as Sartory, E.A. Ouchard, Morizot, and many other masters of the 20th century.
The highlight of the exhibition is an exceptional cello bow by François Xavier Tourte, made around 1820-30, preserved to this day in remarkably fresh condition.
Our Korean exposition is especially meaningful. It marks our first joint exhibition with Karl Childs, son of my dear friend Paul. It is also the first time we have been invited to the beautiful BACHMUSIC 바하악기 workshop… and I am here with my son Nicolas, who has been assisting me in preparing this event.
Afterwards, we will head to the Music China fair in Shanghai - this time with a booth twice the size of last year’s. We have truly pulled out all the stops this autumn to present our collection.
Acquiring fine bows is becoming increasingly difficult, and we make every effort to discover exceptional pieces, sometimes still with their original windings and headplates. The research and preparation are long and meticulous, but we pursue this work with passion. We look forward to welcoming you on this journey.
