Here’s what grand opening day actually looked like.

Thank you to everyone who came down to Hopewell Mall, smelled every candle on the shelf, and made it feel like exactly what we hoped it would be. A space, not just a shop.

Some of our favourite projects don’t start with a scent brief. They start with a story someone wants to hold onto.

We’ve had couples come to us wanting their wedding candle to smell like a specific memory, not just “romantic” in general. That’s the part of custom work we love most, figuring out how to translate something personal into something you can actually light.

Some scents are built from a brief. This one was built from a memory.

DING DING started as a conversation about what the tram actually smells like, salt air, warm metal, and something that’s hard to name but instantly recognisable if you grew up here.

It’s one of those candles that doesn’t just smell good, it smells like somewhere.

For a while now, this has been a quiet project, quick turnaround, happening behind the scenes. This coming Saturday, 22 August 2026, it becomes real.

Our first physical storefront opens at Hopewell Mall, Shop 401, in Wan Chai. A space built so you can experience before you purchase, take your time, and meet the people behind the jars.

Three days in Bangkok taught us something we already suspected but needed to see up close. Good scent still stops people mid conversation, no matter what language they speak.

We showed up at Boutiques Asia with a suitcase full of candles, fragrance products, and came home with new connections, a few new stockist conversations, and a reminder of why we started this in the first place.

Burning your candle down to the very last drop feels efficient. It’s actually the one habit worth breaking.

Once the wax gets too thin near the bottom, the jar starts absorbing more heat than it should, and that’s when things get risky, for the glass and for whatever surface it’s sitting on.

Bangkok gave us more than we expected in one week.

New conversations, new customers, and a warm welcome from a city we’re just getting to know.

Apart from going to Bangkok for Boutiques Fair Asia, we discovered amazing new brands from Thailand, Singapore, South Korea, Japan, and more, including beautiful brands from Hong Kong that were in the fair curation.

In between the pop-up, Aaron flew back to Hong Kong and stayed for less than 22-hours to lead a group soy candle workshop at Hong Kong University.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our space, Thai-community, expats including a few Singapore clients who flew in to squeeze in a bit of a holiday and to check out both us and the fair. That still doesn’t feel real to us.
