Érezd otthon magad! [English below]
A Bo hetiszakasz csodái otthon kezdődnek. A Tóra nem azt mondja: építsetek emlékművet, hanem ezt: „És legyen ez nektek jel a házaitokon” (2Mózes 12:13).
A szabadság első jele nem nyilvános gesztus, hanem egy családi térben elhelyezett jel.
A vér a szemöldökfán, a közös étkezés, az együttmondott szavak, a megélt rítus: a zsidó történelem egyik legnagyobb fordulópontja egy otthon kezdődik.
A kivonulás éjszakája nem a palotákban vagy tereken történik, hanem házakban: asztal körül, közös ételben, kimondott és kimondatlan szavakban. A szabadság itt nem elmélet, hanem gyakorlat – megélt rítus, újra és újra.
Ezért a zsidó otthon soha nem „háttér”: hanem aktív emlékezeti tér. A judaika nem dísz, hanem alapvető eszköz az emlékezéshez. Segít otthon lenni. Segít kérdezni, mesélni, tanítani, továbbadni – ahogy a Tóra mondja: „beszéld el fiadnak.”
A Bo üzenete ma is érvényes: a szabadság nem a nagy intézményekben születik, hanem az asztaloknál.
És minden tárgy, amit használunk – pohár, gyertya, tál, szöveg – ennek a történetnek a része.

The miracles of Parashat Bo begin at home.
The Torah does not say: build a monument. Instead, it says:
“And it shall be a sign for you on your houses” (Exodus 12:13).
The first sign of freedom is not a public gesture, but a mark placed within a family space.
The blood on the doorpost, the shared meal, the words spoken together, the lived ritual — one of the greatest turning points in Jewish history begins in a home.
The night of the Exodus does not unfold in palaces or public squares, but in houses: around a table, through shared food, in spoken and unspoken words. Here, freedom is not theory but practice — a lived ritual, repeated again and again.
This is why the Jewish home is never merely a “background.” It is an active space of memory. Judaica is not decoration, but a fundamental tool of remembrance. It helps us be at home. It helps us ask, tell, teach, and pass things on — as the Torah says: “you shall tell your child.”
The message of Bo remains valid today: freedom is not born in great institutions, but around tables.
And every object we use — a cup, a candle, a bowl, a text — is part of this story.
