The backstrap loom is still well-preserved by the people in Tuban; it is one of the oldest, most traditional forms of weaving in the archipelago. The region is constructed on stories and lores about why such crafts still exist to this day. Some believe that the backstrap loom embodies the life of a goddess, and some say that people used to hold ceremonies at weaving houses as a form of prayer. The beauty of weaving has stood the test of time and this is in line with what we are ceaselessly working towards.
