To talk about the engine, we must first talk about the parts of the engine. The precision, hardness, and material selection of parts largely determine the length of engine life.
For example, crankshaft. Crankshaft, the most important test is to measure its accuracy and runout. If the accuracy is not enough, then its beating will be large, causing the vibration of the engine to become larger, then it will be very difficult to use and the engine loss will be large.
In addition, the hardness of the material used for the crankshaft should be hard enough, otherwise it will affect its life.
There are also cylinders, pistons, transmission shafts, etc., each of which has a lot of technical components in it. Even if the same material is used, the precision is not enough, and the quality inspection is not strict, there will be many problems with the engine.
On the other hand, if the same parts are identical in quality and precision, the technical differences of the assemblers will also affect the overall quality of the engine. Let's just talk about screwing. Inside the engine, many parts need to be screwed with two or four screws. Therefore, the standard way to screw the screws is to screw all the screws halfway, not directly, and then tighten them a second time, and then lock up at the third time. If the screw is tightened directly in one step, it will cause the accessories to be high on one side and low on the other. In this way, after the engine works for a long time, various problems will occur.
Also, adding butter is also a very important part. In order to save time and cost, many brands assemble directly without butter in many places inside the machine. So, how long can such a machine last? So, when the engine breaks down, they might say that it is your operation problem. Is such a machine trustworthy?
Moreover, assembling an engine is not a one-step direct assembly. Instead, it is assembled in steps by 6-8 employees on a production line. Therefore, even if a single link fails, the quality of the entire machine will be affected.
In addition, the test after assembly is also a critical part. We not only have to test the power, speed, fuel consumption, vibration index of the engine, but also violently test its max working time, torque and so on. The easiest way is to let the engine work continuously for 125 hours without any abnormality. Then such a machine is qualified. After testing, our machine can work continuously for up to 600 hours before it stops. Because our product positioning is agricultural machinery, that is, each worker uses 6-8 hours a day.
After talking about the engine, let's talk about the rods, that is, everything except the engine. The most intuitive way to judge the quality of the brush cutter rod is to check the vibration amplitude when it is used, and then its lifespan.
The rod has several major components, aluminum tube, drive shaft, gear box, handle and switch. Let's talk about aluminum tubes first.
Whether the aluminum tube is straight or not directly affects the feel when we operate the machine. The straighter the aluminum tube, the less vibration it has. Whether the aluminum tube is straight is not judged by our naked eyes, but by measurement. First, you need to prepare a marble slab that is absolutely aclinic, and then install a lamp at the end of marble slab. At this point, you need to slowly roll the aluminum tube from one side of the marble to the other. During the rolling process, check whether there is light passing through the contact surface between the aluminum tube and the marble. Then, use measuring paper to measure every place the light passes through. If the measuring paper can pe*****te the gap between the aluminum tube and the marble slab, then the aluminum tube is unqualified. In this industry, very few manufacturers will do this.
However, when we use the machine to cut grass and shrubs, the tube will be stressed or even bent. Then, we have to consider not only its hardness, but also its toughness. One is to ensure that it will not bend easily under the condition of force. The second is that after bending, it can spring back to its original state. If the hardness of the aluminum tube is too high, it will be easy to break when used for a long time. Therefore, a good balance must be found between hardness and toughness. For each manufacturer, this is confidential data, which is obtained through years of testing and users’ feedback.
The material of the aluminum tube is also very critical. Many manufacturers use recycled aluminum to produce aluminum tubes. This material has a lot of impurities. So the density of the aluminum tube is not uniform. For ordinary users, the quality of this aluminum tube is not easy to be seen with the naked eye. However, if it is used for a long time, it is easy to cause problems, such as cracking or deformation, which will lead to increased vibration.
Except aluminum tube, the installation of the internal drive shaft is also a critical part. Many small brands’ factory are not highly mechanized, so these accessories are installed manually. In this way, the installation precision is not enough, and the probability of causing problems is relatively high.
And the gearbox. Because usually people will not disassemble it to see the structure inside. We have met a lot of user feedback that when buying certain brands of brush cutters, the gearbox will have different problems. But our users have almost never reported problems with the gearbox.
