Saya pernah melihat orang lebih takut bilang ā€œkopinya kurang enakā€
daripada takut kehilangan dompet.
Di dunia kopi, kadang rasa bukan cuma soal lidah.
Ia bisa berubah jadi status.
Jadi identitas.
Jadi pembuktian bahwa kita ā€œnaik levelā€.
Kalau s**a yang pahit pekat, dianggap belum sampai.
Kalau belum nyaman dengan asam, dibilang belum teredukasi.
Kalau bilang tidak enak, kadang dianggap tidak paham.
Lucu ya.

Minuman yang seharusnya menghangatkan,
kadang justru membuat orang memilih diam.
Saya mulai percaya, kopi tidak pernah minta dipuja.
Ia tidak pernah minta dibela mati-matian.
Ia hanya ingin diseduh, diminum, lalu dinilai dengan jujur.

Barangkali yang membuat kopi terasa pahit bukan robusta atau arabika.
Tapi ketika rasa berubah menjadi alat untuk merasa lebih tinggi.
Kalau suatu hari saya menyeduhkan kopi untukmu dan kamu bilang kurang enak,
tenang saja.
Yang perlu kita perbaiki mungkin seduhannya,
bukan harga dirimu.
