Why is it called a snow moon?
The full moon that occurs in February is referred to as the snow moon because the heaviest snow fall in North America usually occurs during this month. Harsh weather conditions of freezing temperatures, strong winds and heavy snowfall made hunting in these areas very difficult.
Meaning
The Snow Moon is symbolic of purity, renewal, and the potential for new beginnings.
It can be associated with fulfillment, energy and the manifestation of great personal desires. It embodies a time of endurance, conservation, and anticipation of the renewal of spring.
Spiritual meaning
1 - Wipe the slate clean to jump start the Lunar New Year
it’s the perfect time for decluttering, saying goodbye to anything holding you back and just be still.
During that stillness, ask your inner self, “What can I let go of during this next cycle?” or “What’s ready to be released from my life now?” Notice what your intuitive self says in response.
2 - Plant New Seeds
marks the literal start of planting season, especially if you’re starting seeds indoors.
It’s the perfect time to draw up your plans for this year, and take intentional actions for those goals to manifest.
3 - Face The Facts of Reality
During this full moon, take off any rose-colored glasses and look at any situation you’re facing with a detailed, realistic eye.
Mentally follow through your plans in advance to identify potential roadblocks to address ahead of time.
4 - Inner Awakening
Winter’s outer stillness can provide the perfect container to look inside you to explore what desires, needs and dreams are beginning to awaken in you.
5 - Update Your Wellness Routine
During this full moon, you may identify little shifts you can make in your daily wellness routine that can help make your schedule easier to work with or decrease life’s stressors.
