Straight in at number one. Liam’s taking a look at Where the Kings Are, the new novel from Tipperary author Donal Ryan, which has gone straight to the top of our chart this week. It follows a 12-year-old boy dealing with grief and growing up perhaps a little sooner than he should...but, as Liam says, it’s not all heavy. There’s humour, love and plenty more going on in there.

A new Irish release sitting at No.1... we’ll take that. 🇮🇪

Anyone started it yet?

We’re well and truly into the back-to-school rush now. The bags are probably the biggest decision, Pokemon is proving very popular again this year, along with plenty for the younger ones and more durable options for secondary school. Upstairs, we’ve pretty much everything else on the list. Pens, markers, highlighters, refill pads, pencil cases, hardbacks… all the usual suspects.

If you’re getting organised over the next couple of weeks, call into us in Wexford Town, Enniscorthy or Gorey and Liam and the gang will be delighted to give you a hand getting through the list.

There’s a definite theme in this week charts murder, mystery and a few twists that we’re not going to ruin for you. The top Five of the books are getting plenty of attention in Byrnes this week and no spoilers in the comments please. 😁

What are the kids actually reading at the minute? Damian walking us through some of the books currently topping the children's chart at Byrnes, and there's a good mix in there. And we're really curious... as to what book or series can your kids NOT put down at the minute?

Every school works a little differently when it comes to their orders... some schools like their book packs prepared for each individual student. Others prefer everything packed class by class, ready for teachers to hand out on the first day back. Our service is all about making life that little bit easier when September arrives.

This week’s chart is a real mix from Dan Brown and Chris Carter to Carley Fortune, Bobby Palmer and Danielle Steel are among the books proving most popular this week. There are also two titles sneaking into the stack ahead of their official release this Thursday....One of Us Is Guilty by Steve Cavanagh and Biological War by Annie Jacobsen.
