We’ve partnered again with our friends at Green Bean Books for a Pesach book giveaway.

To be honest, I wasn’t even sure this one would happen.

The books were waiting for me at a hotel in the center of Jerusalem, and between the sirens and everything going on, I wasn’t sure I would make it there. But today we did — just in the nick of time, because the hotel is closing due to the war.

So now we have this beautiful stack of books ready to send to one ChallahCrumbs family.

Stories for the days leading up to Pesach, for bedtime, for snuggling on the couch, for the moments in between.

To enter:
• Make sure you’re following
• Tag two friends who would love these books

We’ll choose a winner on Tuesday evening. This giveaway is open to people in Israel (is there even mail these days 🫣).

Sundays are my reset.

Today I popped a Ritalin (not an everyday thing for me — but a happily some-days thing), drove to the beach, and let myself get organized.

I answered the texts I’ve been meaning to answer.
Filled my notebook.
Knocked out detail work.
Took walking breaks.

My life tends to swing between reminding myself to “look up” — from my phone, my computer, my lists — and reminding myself to “touch grass” — to actually step outside and feel the ground under my feet.

Today I did both.

Beautiful weather.
Beautiful beach.
Great coffee.
Great workday.

It’s our first calm Shabbat after a whirlwind few weeks. Excited for wintery weather, not crazy freezing blizzardy weather❄️, but wintery enough to snuggle under blankets on the couch, read books, and catch up with the kids and friends. Shabbat Shalom.

A few months ago, we committed to learning together for ten minutes a day.

And we’ve pretty much stuck to it.

I love it. Deena has a better Gemara background than I do (she slays at those Aramaic words), her accent is better, and she’s way smarter. And those ten minutes have become one of my favorite parts of my day.

(Also, I will forever love a great bullet journal😊).

One of the things I love most is when our kids hang out without us.

The FOMO gets replaced by something better — the happiness that comes from knowing they actually like being together.

This recipe was cobbled together when our two older kids came home from a café outside Jerusalem raving about this dip. It couldn’t be simpler: equal parts (I did a quarter cup of each) pure golmi (does that translate to raw techina? Techina paste?) techina, honey, and olive oil. As always, the better the quality of the olive oil, honey, and techina, the better the dip!

It should surprise absolutely no one when I say… pair this with a crusty loaf of sourdough. It’s perfection.

I know that I truly love learning — and still, it surprises me every time.
How fulfilling it feels. How happy it makes me.

Today began with learning Talmud with my sister.

It continued with time spent deep in Megillat Yonah with Dov.

Then my weekly chabura on Sefer Yehoshua, with people I love deeply.

And just as the day was winding down, Channan called and we began learning Melachim together.

Learning that moves through generations and through the day. Moments I don’t take for granted and that I’m so grateful for.

The table sticks around for a few days after Chanukah — and I don’t mind it.
I still don’t really know the best way to get wax off the chanukiot, so for now, I’m calling it authentic.
I wrote about the lingering, the clean-up, and the moments that made it a good holiday. The post is on the site. Link in bio 🤍

Happy first night after Chanukah.
Breaking news: Tonight’s dinner does not involve a potato. 😂

IYKYK. Happy Chanukah :)
