I just love to prepare my dining table for a family dinner on Friday. It’s a ritual that starts in the early morning when I visit my favorite farmers market and buy fresh flowers and beautiful products, have my with a sea view and then I rush home to take my favorite porcelain and Italian glasses out, laying my beautiful map&napkins which always make me a vacation mood and start the cooking !!! This is my way to have a perfect Friday ! What’s yours?

I was so hungry on my home I phoned my local fish store and asked for fresh salmon sliced carpaccio style. I arrived home, sliced thinly spring onions and red chili, mixed with lemon zest, Lyme juice and pink salt with the salmon. I enjoyed this dish so much! This is summer food for me! It’s fresh, easy, healthy and light, and most importantly... yummy!!!!

Although it’s important which quality is the food we consume , in my opinion, the and the setting of the table is important as well.
Try to use your pretty dishes and cutlery more often, enjoy it on a daily base, don’t wait until some kind of a will be your guest! Don’t worry, Beyoncé and Jay wont come for dinner, however , you and your dear family are the real vip and you should behave accordingly.
So pull out the your grandma gave you with love, put your best Linen on the table and maybe light a candle and place small plant like in a vase.
Everybody can do it, there is a small effort but the pleasure is huge! Kisses and love 💖!

I introduce you one of first buildings of from 1913! I pass him by on my way from the institute every day, admire its silent elegance for couple of minutes, imagining what kind of people lived there, fantasizing about living on the second floor and having my morning coffee at the balcony filled with plants.
Today, I was repeating my ritual and paused across the street to share my honor to the building and I noticed a guy taking photo of it, using professional camera.

I asked him if he finds the building to be beautiful and he answered he likes it’s design, added “you know it combines bauhaus elements as well?”.
😳 that was a wrong thing to say about it. This building has nothing similar with but then we had an interesting conversation about of the , design elements and photography.

Sometimes, you meet new people for a brief moment and have passionate talk about mutual interests, this can happen only if you are open to it!

is one of those dishes everybody know how to make, yet still it is not tasty everywhere. To cook a great shakshuka you have to have the right red tomatoes, , and . It doesn’t stop there, because every has his depends on his nationality. Some put and some add Smoked paprika, maybe cured lemon or chili paste.
The secret is always to open those spices in a hot olive oil before adding the garlic and sliced tomatoes.
It is simply eggs cooked in a tomato but there is nothing simple about cooking it with love and patience.
It’s can be a wonderful or or accompanied with a good rustic bread to dip in.
I to eat shakshuka in the in Jaffa and I enjoy my walk at the after.
By the way, I need my shakshuka to be but with a depth of flavors, and they got it just right! Bravo!

לדעתי pain au chocolat זה השם הנכון לקרואסון שוקולד. מה דעתכם?

Pain au chocolat ou chocolatine ?

לפני שהגעתי לארץ לא הכרתי את הקרואסון שוקולד.
עד היום זה נראה לי עיוות של מאפה השוקולד המקורי שאוכלים בצרפת (ובלי מרגרינה בבקשה!)

אבל איך קוראים למאפה הזה בצרפת?

הצרפתים לא סגורים על הנושא והשאלה הזאת מפלגת את הצרפתים, יותר מהריב בין ימין לשמאל, ויותר מהויכוח אייפון-אנדרואיד.
מדובר בדילמה שמקרבת את הצרפתים למלחמת אזרחים:
האם קוראים למאפה השוקולד הזה pain au chocolat או chocolatine?
תושבי הדרום מערב טוענים שהמאפה הזה במקור מהאזור שלהם ושעיוותו את השם שלו.
הם טוענים שה-pain au chocolat - משמעו "לחם עם שוקולד" וזה משהו אחר לגמרי, זה חתיכת לחם עם כמה קוביות שוקולד בפנים.
הם רוצים שיחזירו למאפה המפורסם את הכבוד המגיע לו ויקראו לו chocolatine – השם המקורי שלו.
נשמע לכם שיטחי?
הדבר עלה לפרלמנט ודנו בנושא במוסדות הגבוהים ביותר של צרפת.
נפתח אפילו אתר אינטרנט בו אנשים הוזמנו להצביע בעד ה-chocolatine או ה-pain au chocolat. רוצים להצביע גם? זה קורה כאן :

ויש בפייסבוק ועדת הגנת ה-chocolatine.

בסופו של דבר, אחרי מעל שנה של ויכוחים הפרלמנט דחה לפני כשבועיים את הבקשה להכניס את המילה chocolatine לחוק הצרפתי.
