On-line registration of 12th and 10th standard passed students from their school itself and getting the Employment office registration Card immediately with the same seniority.
TamilNadu State Data Centre has been successfully commissioned with effect from 1.8.2011 for supporting e-Governance initiatives under NeGP (National e-Governance Programme).
Government applications such as TamilNadu Health Systéms Project, Chennai Metro Rail Project, State Election Commission Electoral Roll project, ERP for priceless Fan, Mixie & Grinder, and Laptop scheme etc. are operational in the SDC.
Tamil Nadu is the first State in the country to obtain ISO/IEC 20000-1:2005 and ISO 27001:2005 certification for Data Centre Operations and Management of Information Security.
For e-District Project at District level, Orders have been issued to establish District e-Governance Societies in all the Districts.
For the year 2012, the Government of Tamil Nadu has won the “Web Ratna Award” for exemplary e-Gov initiatives and Comprehensive Web presence.
The scheme of distribution of laptop computers to the students studying in Government and Government-aided Schools, Colleges was launched. 8,35,407 Laptop Computers had been supplied.
TAMIL NADU ARASU CABLE TV CORPORATION LTD (TNACTV)
The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu launched the cable TV services of TNACTV on 02.09.2011 all over Tamil Nadu except Chennai and in Chennai on 20.10.2012.
The monthly subscription for Arasu Cable TV is Rs.70/-. There is a bouquet of 100 Channels. There are 24,361 operators.
