Just finished reading this masterpiece by Rohinton Mistry and the book has left me with lingering feelings of melancholy.
The characters are so well developed and story so majestically told, it felt like the hands of the watch moved to a parallel time and a dimension in space, where I could watch Nariman Vakeel and his fateful past and future unfold in front of my eyes.
The story narrates the struggles, deception, lies, jealousy, disgust, regret, heart change, ordinary people go through while facing miseries of life.
Nariman’s favourite song -“One day when we were young”, easily became my favourite too. Sweet heartache is what I feel at the mention of this song.
