2026 Stone Circle Gravel - a big day out 🤩

A bunch of hardy riders from CCC, Big Maggys and Cog and Sprocket, travelled to Salisbury to take part in the Stone Circle 2026 event last weekend, with riders choosing between different challenging routes through the stunning Wiltshire countryside.

There were routes of 85 km, 137 km and 220 km across Salisbury Plain that included a ride past the iconic Stonehenge.

The sunny weather made for great riding conditions, but the day still brought its fair share of challenges. Mechanical issues, punctures and a few crashes kept riders busy throughout the event. Richard Tanguy enveloped the spirit of the event helping a non Jersey rider who crashed and became unconscious early into the route safely make his way to hospital. Richard then went on to complete the 220km distance despite the significant time delay in putting rider safety first. Jonathan Harris had to end his ride early after his own crash, but made it back to the finish and made the most of refreshments provided.

Even through setbacks, everyone showed great determination to overcome the obstacles and enjoy the day, making it a successful day out on the trails for all that attended.

The event was welcoming, well organised and even offered refreshment and entertainment at the finish line. Ryan Poingdestre was the surprise of the evening, nominating himself for the turbo karaoke (singing whilst on a static bike) and winning the top prize.

With easy access from Portsmouth and a relaxed festival atmosphere, I’m sure there will be another trip for next year in the planning.

CCC riders included: Robin Ovenden, Charlie Ovenden, Adam Woktkiewizc, Harry Queripel, Ryan Poingdestre, Erik Le Brun, Helene Monpetit, Jono Harris and Jamie Ellis.

Riders from Big Maggys included: Lydia Barratt, Indi Malzard, Jay Rogers, John Rogers, Richard Tanguy and Mark Ecibichon.

Andy Hull and Martin Allix rode as non affiliated rider, with the CCC group.

Stone Circle Gravel - Shop Closed

At the Cycle Centre we like to practice what we preach, so this weekend we will be away in Salisbury to take part in the 220km Stone Circle Gravel event – this unfortunately means the shop will be closed on Saturday 27th June.

If you have anything urgent, please just give us a call at the shop.
