鏡に映る、夏のフラワーアート

暑い季節は、生花とはまた違った楽しみ方を。

今回はアーティフィシャルフラワーを使い、鏡を取り入れたフラワーアートを楽しんでいただきました。

共通の花材を少し用意したあとは、たくさんの花や枝、さまざまな素材の中から、それぞれが使いたいものを自由にセレクト。

自分で選んだ花材をどのように組み合わせ、どこに配置するかを考えながら、それぞれの感性で仕上げていただきました。

今回は鏡を使うことで、正面から見える表情だけでなく、映り込む花や素材、奥行きまで意識して構成するのもポイント。

自由に花材を選び、思い思いに組み合わせる楽しさを味わっていただく、いつもとは少し違ったレッスンになりました。🌿✨

Floral Art Reflected in a Mirror

In the heat of summer, we explored a different way to enjoy floral design using artificial flowers.

After selecting a few shared materials, each participant was invited to choose their own flowers, branches, and decorative elements from a wide variety of materials.

They then explored how to combine and arrange their chosen materials, creating their own unique compositions.

The mirror added another dimension to the lesson. Participants considered not only the view from the front, but also the reflections, layers, and sense of depth created by the arrangement.

It was a lovely opportunity to enjoy the freedom of choosing and combining materials, creating something uniquely their own. 🌿✨

グルーピングをテーマにしたフラワーレッスン

今回のテーマは「グルーピング」。

花を均等に配置するのではなく、同じ種類や色の花をまとめて配置し、まとまりと余白を意識しながら、それぞれに生けていただきました。

同じ花材を使っていても、選ぶ器や花の配置によって、仕上がりの印象は変わります。

花を一本ずつ見ながら、どこに置くか、どの花と組み合わせるかを考えていくことも、フラワーアレンジメントの楽しさのひとつ。

右上の作品は、以前レッスンに参加してくださった方が、久しぶりに来てくださった時のものです。

今回も、それぞれの器に合わせて花を生けていただきました。

A Flower Arrangement Lesson — Grouping

The theme of this lesson was grouping.

Rather than distributing the flowers evenly, we focused on bringing flowers of the same type or color together, while considering balance, grouping, and open space.

Even when using the same flowers, the choice of container and the placement of each flower can create a very different impression.

Looking closely at each flower and considering where to place it and which flowers to combine is also part of the enjoyment of flower arranging.

The arrangement in the upper right was created by a student who returned to my lesson after some time away.

Each participant worked with their chosen container and flowers to explore the theme of grouping.

今回は、ガーベラやアストランチャ、スカビオサ・ドラムスティック、ブリーディングハーツなど、個性豊かな花材を使いました。

茎の美しいラインを生かした縦のデザインと、花束をそのまま飾ったようなラジエートスタイル。
器によって印象が大きく変わるのも、このレッスンの楽しさです。

一輪一輪の表情を大切にしながら、それぞれがのびやかに咲く、季節を感じるアレンジメントになりました。

Natural floral design without floral foam.

This arrangement features seasonal flowers including gerbera, astrantia, scabiosa ‘Drumstick’, and bleeding hearts.

By highlighting the graceful lines of each stem, the design creates a light, airy, bouquet-inspired arrangement. Different containers bring out completely different expressions, making every creation unique.

Enjoying the beauty of each flower while celebrating the elegance of nature.

トクサの美しいラインを生かし、植物素材だけで花を支えるデザインに挑戦しました。

花の配置や空間の取り方を学びながら、一人ひとりの感性が光る、個性豊かな作品に仕上がりました✨

Arrangement Lesson Without Floral Foam

In this lesson, we explored a design that uses the graceful lines of horsetail (Tokusa), supporting the flowers with natural plant materials instead of floral foam.

While learning balance, placement, and the beauty of negative space, each student created a unique arrangement that reflected their own creativity.

レッスン作品より。

こちらは、初めてオアシスを使わずにアレンジメントされた皆さまの作品です。

気温が高くなる季節には、花が直接水を吸える生け方を取り入れることが増えます。

いつものアレンジメントとは勝手が違い、花を支える位置や向き、高さのバランスを考えながらの制作となりました。

最初は戸惑いながらも、一本ずつ花と向き合い、それぞれの作品を完成させてくださいました。

新しい技法に挑戦することも、レッスンの楽しみのひとつです。

From a recent lesson.

These arrangements were created by students trying a foam-free design for the first time.

As the weather becomes warmer, I often introduce techniques that allow flowers to absorb water directly.

This approach differs from traditional floral foam arrangements and requires careful attention to placement, balance, and structure.

Although it was a new experience for many of the students, they thoughtfully worked with each stem and completed their own unique designs.

Learning and experimenting with new techniques is one of the joys of floral design.

🌿【再生】🌿

前回ご紹介した「滅亡からの再生」に続き、こちらも同じレッスンの中で生まれた作品です。

生徒さんが選んだ題は
『再生』。

役目を終えたように見える枯れ枝。
その枝に新たな花々が添えられることで、再び命が吹き込まれたような作品になりました。

今回使用している枝は、私が以前の作品で使い、枯れてしまったものです。
本来なら処分されるはずだった枝が、生徒さんの感性によって新しい表現の一部として生まれ変わりました。

鮮やかな花々と枯れ枝の対比からは、
終わりではなく新しい始まり、
失われたものの中にも次へつながる力があることを感じさせてくれます。

生徒さんの作品から、私自身も「再生」の美しさを改めて教えていただきました。

🌿【Rebirth】🌿

Following the arrangement “From Extinction to Renewal” that I shared earlier, this piece was also created during the same lesson.

The title chosen by this student was “Rebirth.”

The dried branches may appear to have fulfilled their purpose, yet when combined with fresh flowers, they seem to come alive once again.

The branches used in this arrangement were ones I had previously used and allowed to dry.
What might have been discarded was transformed into a beautiful new expression through the student’s creativity.

The contrast between vibrant blooms and weathered branches reminds us that endings can become new beginnings, and that even what seems lost can hold the potential for renewal.

This piece reminded me once again of the beauty of rebirth.

🌱【滅亡からの再生】🌱

今回のレッスンでは、「自分で題を決めて生ける」という課題に取り組んでいただきました。

生徒さんが選んだ題は
『滅亡からの再生』。

時代の流れの中で消えていったもの。
役目を終えて朽ちたもの。
一度は失われたと思われたもの。

けれど、その終わりは本当の終わりではなく、新しい命や新しい価値へとつながっていく。

そんな想いが込められた作品です。

今回使用している枝は、私が以前使い、枯れてしまったもの。
そこにアイビーが絡みながら伸びる姿は、まるで未来へ向かう生命力の象徴のようです。

滅びの先にも希望はあり、新しい物語は始まる。

生徒さんの感性から生まれた、力強いメッセージを感じる作品でした。

🌱【From Extinction to Renewal】🌱

In this lesson, students were asked to create an arrangement based on a theme of their own choosing.

The title of this arrangement is “From Extinction to Renewal.”

Things that have disappeared with time.
Things that have completed their purpose.
Things once thought to be lost forever.

Yet an ending is not always the end.
It can become the beginning of new life, new meaning, and new possibilities.

The dried branches used here were from one of my previous arrangements.
The ivy winding its way around them seems to symbolize life moving forward into the future.

Even beyond decline and loss, hope remains.
And with hope, a new story begins.

This arrangement carries a powerful message of resilience and renewal.

レッスン作品より。

暑さを感じる日が増えてきたので、この頃からオアシスを使わないアレンジメントが続きます。

花が直接水を吸えるため、これからの季節には特におすすめの生け方です。

やさしいピンクの花々とグリーンのコントラストに、風を感じるような軽やかなラインを加えました。

春の名残と初夏の気配を感じるアレンジメントです。

From a recent lesson.

As the days become warmer, this is the time of year when I begin creating arrangements without floral foam.

Because the flowers can absorb water directly, this method is especially suitable for the coming season.

Soft pink blooms are complemented by fresh green accents and airy lines that evoke the feeling of a gentle breeze.

An arrangement that captures the last traces of spring and the first hints of early summer.

春のレッスンより🌿

ワンサイドホリゾンタルとラジエート、2つの形のレッスン。
セッカエニシダの伸びやかなラインを生かしながら、それぞれの構成や空間の取り方を意識して制作しました。

基本形を踏まえつつ、花の重なりや枝の動きまで丁寧に考えながら、自分らしい表現に。
同じ花材でも、デザインによってまったく違う表情が生まれるのがアレンジメントの魅力です✨

オレンジやイエローの花々が春らしく、軽やかで動きのある作品に仕上がりました。

From a spring lesson 🌿

This lesson focused on two arrangement styles: One-Side Horizontal and Radiate.
Using the graceful lines of secca enishida branches, each arrangement was created with careful attention to composition, balance, and space.

Building on the fundamentals, students explored movement, layering, and their own individual expression.
Even with the same materials, each design developed its own unique character — one of the true joys of floral arrangement ✨

The orange and yellow flowers brought a fresh spring feeling, creating light and dynamic designs.

パラレルの基本形と、そのバリエーション。

今回は「どのようなパラレルを生けるか」を
ご自身で選び、構成していただきました。

斜めに走るライン、
交差によって生まれる緊張感。

同じ花材であっても、
選択と構成によって表現は大きく変わります。

意図を持って組み立てることで、
作品に明確な輪郭と存在感が生まれていました。

選ぶこと、形にすること。
その積み重ねが、確かな表現へとつながっていきます。

In this lesson, each participant chose the type of parallel arrangement they wished to create and developed it with intention.

Lines running diagonally,
tension created through crossing forms.

Even with the same materials,
expression changes significantly through choice and composition.

By constructing with clear intention,
each piece gained a distinct presence and definition.

these layered processes lead to a more refined expression.
