January 3, 2026 — the first full moon of the year, the “Wolf Moon.” 🌕
The Wolf Moon is the traditional name for January’s full moon, inspired by the winter season when wolves were said to howl under the night sky.
This year’s supermoon appears about 6% larger and brighter than a regular full moon, as it comes closest to Earth.
With a perfectly clear sky here in Tokyo, the moon looks absolutely beautiful tonight.

2026年1月3日今年最初の満月「ウルフムーン」
ウルフムーンは1月の満月の愛称で、冬の夜空にオオカミが遠吠えする季節感から名付けられた昔の呼び名だそうです。
今回のスーパームーンは最も地球に近づくので普通の満月よりも6%大きく明るく見えるそうですよ。東京では雲一つない晴れた夜空なのでとても美しく見れます。
