Sakura season has arrived at our factory 🌸
Around our factory, there are a few cherry blossom trees —�each with its own story.
One has grown alongside our current factory.�One was planted by our team to celebrate a new beginning.
And one has been here since 1985,�a gift from those who built this place.
Every spring, they bloom again,�quietly reminding us of where we started.
We work with wood.�And we grow with it. 🌲

工場の桜が満開になりました🌸
敷地内にはいくつかの桜の木があり、�それぞれに物語があります。
新社屋の本社工場とともに成長してきた桜。�新社屋の新しいスタートを記念して社員の想いで植えられた桜。
そして1985年にこの場所に移ってきた当時からある桜。�この場所を築いてきた人たちから贈られた大切な木です。
毎年春になると、
静かに咲き、原点を思い出させてくれます。
木とともに、�この場所で、育ってきました。🌲

NYでの展示会 Shoppe Object が無事に終了しました。
今回はギフト向けの展示会ということもあり、
桧のまな板を中心としたキッチン用品は、
「どんな場で、どんな形で伝えるとより届くのか」
改めて考えるきっかけとなる展示会でした。
その中でも、
・モクセイカプセルトイに興味を持ってくださる方がいたこと
・「Hinoki」という素材の認知度の高さを実感できたこと
・まな板についても、じっくり話を聞いてくださる方がいたこと
一つひとつの反応から、確かな手応えを感じています。
JETROブースの一員としてセレクトいただき、
この貴重な機会をいただけたことに心より感謝しています。
今回の経験を糧に、
次は「どこで・誰に・何を」届けるのか。
次は、フランクフルトで開催される
Ambiente 2026へ。
準備完了です！

Our time at Shoppe Object in New York has come to an end.
As this was a gift-focused show,
it gave us a valuable opportunity to rethink
how and where our hinoki cutting boards and kitchenware
can be best communicated and appreciated.
We were encouraged by:
– the interest in our wooden capsule toys
– the strong recognition of “hinoki” as a material
– and thoughtful conversations around our cutting boards
Each interaction offered meaningful insight.
We are sincerely grateful to JETRO
for selecting us and giving us this opportunity.
Taking these learnings forward,
we continue refining how, where, and to whom we share our work.
Next stop: Ambiente 2026 in Frankfurt.
We’re ready.

今日は、JETRO様の TOHOKU CRAFT JOURNEY プロジェクトの一環で、
欧州からのバイヤーの皆様が光大の工場見学にお越しくださいました！🌍✨
展示会ではスペースの関係で出品できなかった商品も社内にディスプレイしていたため、
ご来社いただくなり様々なアイテムに興味を持っていただき、
とても熱心に見学されていました。👀
実際に製造の現場をご覧いただくことで、
光大の「人と森と未来をつなぐ」ものづくりへの想いを
より深く感じていただけたのではないかと思います。🌲🤝
このような機会を通して、
私たちの木製品と日本の木の魅力が世界に広がっていくことを願っています。

Today, we had the pleasure of welcoming buyers from Europe
as part of JETRO’s TOHOKU CRAFT JOURNEY project! 🇪🇺🌿
Since exhibition space is always limited,
we were happy to showcase products that are usually not brought to trade shows —
and the visitors showed great interest as soon as they entered our factory. 👀✨
It was a wonderful opportunity for them to experience how we craft our products,
and to feel our passion for “Connecting People, Forest, and Future.” 🌲🤝
We truly hope that through moments like this,
the warmth of Japanese wood and KODAI’s craftsmanship will reach people around the world. 🌍
