Important Security Update from Kuroobiya

To our valued customers and the martial arts community,

At Kuroobiya, we hold the trust you place in us with the highest regard. We are writing to share the results of a recent security audit following a targeted intrusion on our server between May 11 and May 13, 2026.

The Audit Results

We have worked with security experts to perform a full forensic analysis of our systems. We are pleased to report the following findings:

No Bulk Data Theft: There is no evidence that our customer database was downloaded in bulk.

Historical Orders are Secure: Our logs confirm that historical order records (placed prior to May 11) were not accessed by unauthorized scripts.

System Status: Our server has been thoroughly purged of all malicious files, hardened against future threats, and is currently under 24/7 monitoring.

What You Need to Know

The incident was a localized attempt to "skim" new information during a brief 48-hour window. If you updated your account or placed an order between May 11 and May 13, please monitor your financial statements as a standard precaution.

WARNING: Phishing and Identity Theft

We have been made aware of fraudulent activity using the Kuroobiya name. Please be vigilant regarding the following:

Official Communications: We will ONLY contact you from our [email protected] email address. Please ignore any messages from Gmail, Hotmail, outlook or other providers claiming to represent us.

Fraudulent Solicitations: We are aware that several design and development companies have been contacted by individuals impersonating Kuroobiya. If you are a web agency or developer receiving such a request, please ignore it. We are not currently seeking new design or development partnerships.

Fake Links: Do not click on any "Calendly" or "Service Update" links sent from unofficial email addresses.

They are also trying to set up a website called kurobiya.com (with one o)

Moving Forward:

Kuroobiya remains committed to the traditional Japanese martial arts and the people who practice them. We have updated all administrative security keys and implemented a "total lockdown" protocol to ensure your data remains safe.

We recommend that all customers reset their account passwords as a standard safety measure.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING WKF GOODS!

We have been informed that as for the 2025-2029 season, Hirota, Tokyodo International and Hayate will no longer be on the list of WKF approved manufacturers for that season. (Tokaido will remain on the list).

WKF goods from the above manufacturers may be used in WKF competitions until June 30, 2025, and the manufacturers are permited to use WKF approved labels until December 31,2024.

As Hirota fully tailored dogi are currently taking just over 5 months to make, we have stopped taking orders for these dogi as of July 15, 2024.

The latest orders will be made by the end of the year.

Ready made WKF approved dogi and belts from these manufacturers will be available for purchase until October, 2024 but please be aware, they can only be used in official international tournaments until June 30, 2025.

We apologise for the inconvenience caused.

Please note that this does not affect the availability of the non- WKF approved (ie regular) versions of these goods.
