Summer Announcement

Island Flowers will be taking a summer break and will reopen in September.

During this time, I’ll be visiting my family on the Big Island of Hawaii and continuing to learn and grow by studying wedding floristry. I’m excited to bring back new techniques, and even more beautiful designs for you.

I’m also thrilled to share that, starting in 2027, I’m planning to collaborate with an event company from mainland Japan focusing on weddings.

Thank you so much for all of your support, kindness, and trust. It truly means the world to me. I can’t wait to see you again in September!

Hi🤍

This was an all-white rose proposal flower arrangement requested by a gentleman who wanted to create the most elegant, beautiful proposal scene for the woman he loved.

Once I started making the arrangement, I carefully saved the petals for the romantic scene later. Each rose was arranged one by one with care, making sure each angle looked good and balanced. So romantic, so dreamy. Wishing this beautiful couple forever and ever happiness. Stay tuned with pictures for my next post🫶

This is the story of how I became a florist🌺

My name is Maria and I’m half Austrian half Japanese born in America grew up in Japan🇦🇹🇯🇵🇺🇸

My sister had her wedding in Okinawa and we planned it together.

I remember searching for florists but realized that I can design the flowers on my own.

So I did.

I bought flowers from flower shops and JA and decorated them all on my own.

I started looking into the flower industry.

I had my first flower stand on Mother’s Day in the parking lot of my house. My kids also helped me making the signs and selling them too. It was simple, a little messy but having people stop and buying flowers gave me confidence.

I made connections and signed up officially as a florist at the flower wholesale sale market as a florist.

I was never good at math at school but I believe God game me a gift in seeing colors and shapes and putting them together in harmony.

I’m determined to always aim higher in bettering my skills everyday.

Island Flowers will not be taking any new orders from April 28th to May 18th due to family visiting and a fully booked schedule with bouquets, weddings, and event decor. I will be focusing on creating and completing the orders I have already confirmed during this time.

I’m so sorry I won’t be able to take Mother’s Day orders this year.
