Thank you zama community for your support with our recent yukata sales and dressing. All proceeds go to our scholarship fund.

By the way everyone that came by to get dressed you looked amazing in a yukata!

Now that Bon Odori is over, what to do with your yukata? Here’s some tips:

1) Cotton and polyblend yukata can be washed in washing machine. Suggest gentle or delicate cycle. If your yukata has any silk please take to dry cleaners, do not attempt to wash at home.

2) Any ties (himo) that was used to hold you together is washable, accept if your himo is made of silk, do not wash, take to dry cleaners

3) Suggest to line dry your yukata and himo, dryer may shrink or ruin the fabric.

4) Modern/newer Polyblend obi or long scarf are washable, using gentle cycle and line dry, UNLESS it is silk, do not machine wash, take to dry cleaners. If you are unsure if the material, check with dry cleaners or where you purchased your obi.

If unsure always consult with a kimono expert or someone with knowledge.
