Australia Nowの展示テーマは「Raw Forms」。デザインの最前線をリードし、業界に影響を与えているデザイナーたちを紹介しました。展示のスタイリングもシンプルで粗削りな素材を使用しています。このアプローチは、限られた天然資源を活かし、シンプルな形状と構造から実用性を生み出すというオーストラリアのデザイン哲学を反映しています。
今回ご紹介するデザイナーの一部は、オーストラリアの独特な自然環境からインスピレーションを得ており、自然にならった有機的な特質の形状やデザインを生み出しています。またオーストラリアはアルミニウム、鋼鉄、銅（青銅や真鍮に使用）、木材、粘土、磁器などの豊富な資源を有し、産業製造業も盛んです。展示されているデザイナーの中には、産業系製造業からインテリア製品の創造へと転向した方もいます。彼らは、技術と素材を活かし、精巧で長く愛される製品を作り出しています。

Australia Now - Raw Forms
The Australia Now exhibition explores the forefront of Australian design, showcasing designers selected for their impact on the industry.
This year’s theme, Raw Forms, delves into the abundant natural materials of Australia and their influence on design. Some designers draw inspiration from Australia’s unique landscapes, resulting in forms that evoke the organic qualities of the environment.
Australia also has a strong foundation in raw resources such as aluminum, steel, copper (used in bronze and brass), wood, clay, and porcelain, alongside thriving industries in industrial manufacturing.
Several of the featured designers have transitioned from industrial manufacturing to creating interior products. They bring their expertise and materials into finely crafted, enduring pieces designed for life.
In keeping with the exhibition’s theme, the display itself is styled with simplicity, using raw and unrefined materials. This approach echoes the Australian design philosophy—making the most of available resources and innovating to create utility from simple forms and structures.
