Hello!
Today, I’d like to talk about the hands of the *Maneki-neko* (beckoning cat).

The bodies we receive from the artisans are designed to be easy for anyone to work with,
so the grooves where the arms attach look a bit like the logos of private railway companies.
However, if I were to assemble them exactly as they are, the look wouldn't be very appealing,
so I shift the position of the grooves slightly when attaching the arms.

Come, good fortune!
It’s a *Maneki-neko* that invites good luck. ^ ^

Long time no see!

Half of this year has already passed, and we’re in the second half now.
I’m the kind of person who can’t get moving until the pressure’s on, but I’ve finally started working.
These are the small round flowers that go on the parts of a hagoita (decorative wooden paddle).
Even though there’s still so much work to do after this, my eyes keep wandering to the zodiac decorations, and I end up working on those instead, so I can’t seem to make progress on one thing.

I’m making the parts so that I can finish everything at once in the fall, but with this hot summer, I wonder when fall will actually come…
I feel like I’ll get bored if I don’t see the finished product…

I’ll do my best!!!

Making a sample of next year’s zodiac (Sheep)
This little one's face is so cute that I couldn’t help but want to show it to everyone early❣

The sheep is a symbol of tranquility and harmony.
It is considered auspicious for family happiness, improved human relationships, good connections, and a peaceful life.
At the same time, the character '未' for the Year of the Sheep also implies the future, symbolizing growth and development yet to come.

We all want to spend our days with such a cheerful face, don’t we!!!

Today, May 8th, we are pleased to report that we have successfully completed the memorial service for the dolls entrusted to us by everyone.

There were fewer dolls this year, perhaps.

On a personal note, my son has turned 40, so I was thinking of having a doll memorial service, but I've decided to keep them displayed for just one more year.

These festival decorations have protected my son for so long... I just can't bring myself to let them go. 💦

But he's grown up so big and proud, so I think I'll have a memorial service for them next year. 😊

The carp streamers I made in a hurry.
They are small and hard to make 💦
But once completed, they are cute little ones!
