Today, as we celebrate the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Duka Safi KAKUMA proudly stands with every person living with a disability in Kakuma and Kalobeyei.
Many people with disabilities continue to face challenges when using latrines, and we remain committed to providing simple, safe, and dignified solutions. One of the key tools we promote is the SATO Stool, designed to make latrine access easier, cleaner, and more comfortable for individuals with mobility challenges.
The SATO Stool helps by:
Allowing easy sitting and standing
Improving hygiene and cleanliness
Reducing the need to squat, which can be difficult for many
Creating a safer and more dignified toilet experience
As we honour this important day, we encourage families and communities in Kakuma and Kalobeyei to support persons with disabilities by providing a SATO Stool in their homes or shared latrines. Together, we can build a more inclusive and supportive community for everyone.
