I said, “Let me quickly run an errand.”

Twenty minutes later, I was in Ruai Bypass.

The errand was supposed to take me to Ruiru Bypass.

Same vowels. Very different destination. 😭

At that point, I stopped calling it an errand and started calling it a Nairobi side quest.

And honestly, that's the problem with “quick errands.” Somehow they become navigation, traffic, queues, phone calls, and half a day you didn't plan to lose.
