1) Indian soldiers in trench, 1915
Photograph, World War One, Gallipoli (1915).
Around 15,000 Indians served in the Dardanelles at various times during the campaign. Most of these men served with 29th Indian Brigade, the Indian Mountain Artillery Brigade and the Indian Mule Corps.
From an album of 99 photographs compiled by Lieutenant (later Lieutenant General Sir) Reginald Arthur Savory, 14th Sikh Regiment.

3) Havildar Waryam Singh was a Signaller in the 14th Sikhs, the battalion that fought alongside the Anzacs in the Gallipoli campaign in 1915. He was awarded the 1914-15 Star, The British War Medal and The Allied Victory Medal for his efforts in assisting the British Commonwealth in seeking victory during World War 1. He also received Indian Distinguished Service Medal, Indian General Service Medal and General Service Medal.
