Normalizing cat whisker collecting. 😽

Meet mini Xiaomao, my whisker holder/desk buddy, made from airdry clay.

If you've seen my previous reels, you might already know that I have resin allergy and in search of alternatives.

Varathane is a water based, non-toxic sealer that I discovered through recommendations in clay communities and thanks to the amazing creator of The Blue Bottle Tree, Ginger.

I got this shine with around 10 layers, waiting at least 2 hour between each.

To be fair, this is the semi-gloss version, pure gloss could resemble resin more, but I couldn't get that in Korea.

I was eager to get into creating pressed flower pendants with polymer clay and a sealer on top, but since I can't use resin, I had to find an other solution.

So happy I only made a prototype because you can't imagine how devastated I was after getting these results with a water-bases sealer...

Now I know that forget me nots are one of the most delicate pressed flowers to work with, but you can't imagine how many issues I had with the 1st version.
(Hint 1, I even had to recolor the flower with acrilyc markers)

So, change of technique it is.

What do you think of the final version?
(Hint 2, it doesn't involve any kind of clay anymore).
