OVERVIEW
The DW Performance Series 5-piece Shell Set in Black Diamond is the authentic American DW experience at a real-world price: handbuilt in the same California plant, by the same craftsmen, as the Collector’s Series.
It runs the classic configuration — 18x22” bass drum, 8x10” and 9x12” rack toms, 14x16” floor tom and 6.5x14” snare — on DW’s HVX shell — 100% North American hard rock maple with horizontal, vertical and diagonal plies, baked in pressure moulds at 2,600 PSI and cool-tempered for strength, roundness and resonance — dressed with reduced Quarter Turret lugs, graduated counter hoops, True-Pitch tension rods and DW heads by Remo USA. Toms wear pinpoint 45-degree back-cut edges for attack and response, the kick’s 60-degree edges add depth, STM suspension mounts free the toms to resonate, and the snare’s MAG throw-off returns to exact tension every time.
Note: shells only — cymbals and hardware sold separately (DW’s 5000 or 3000 hardware packs pair perfectly).
