A quiet ascent towards balance.

Monica Pascual Velasco’s sculptural totems, built from perfectly imperfect spheres, evoke for me a journey towards balance — between body and mind, grounding and elevation.

Their verticality invites us to lift our gaze, to look beyond what weighs us down, and to rise with confidence.

I also see a subtle resonance with Buddhist traditions, where stones can be carefully stacked as symbols of presence, meditation, protection and balance.

But Monica’s work brings something wonderfully contemporary to this dialogue. Her vibrant colours introduce joy, energy and positivity — a reminder that balance doesn’t have to be silent or austere. It can be full of life.

Each sphere finds its place, one upon another, creating an inner architecture that feels both grounded and hopeful.

A reminder that elevation begins with grounding.
That balance is not about standing still, but about finding our centre.
And sometimes, we simply need to look up.

✨ L’été en équilibre continues at Subtile until 12 September.

The gallery will take a short summer break from 22 August to 7 September and will be closed during this period.

But our online gallery remains open.

You can now discover a selection of Monica Pascual Velasco’s unique pieces on our website. Perhaps one of these joyful totems will find its place in your home — and become part of your own landscape.

The opening of our exhibition was a delightful moment. We had the honour of welcoming H.E. María Nieves Blanco Díaz, Ambassador of Spain to Luxembourg, whose warmth, kindness and elegance made the moment even more special.

She took the time to discover the enchanting world of Monica, who travelled all the way from Madrid for the weekend. In Monica’s universe, sculptures seem to float between meringues and ice cream, bringing a delicious sense of freshness and wonder with a single glance.

The morning also gave birth to two new creations, made live before our eyes and, as always, inspired by love. They now have their place in our gallery.

And then there is Anthony. With his confident and vibrant brushstrokes, this young artist keeps painting endless bouquets of flowers—works that invite us to dream, escape and carry a little spring into our homes all year round.

From tomorrow, we invite you to step into our peaceful haven, sit by the sound of water and simply let time slow down.

MIRAGE OR REALITY?

I like to imagine that this path to the gallery is a passage to the unexpected.

Often a gravel path, like in Provence.
Sometimes a wheat field.
Sometimes a forest.
Today, a sea.

Perhaps this water doesn’t exist.
Perhaps it’s only a summer mirage.
But the desire to slow down, to wonder, to discover an unexpected place in the heart of the city…
That is very real.

Because art often begins there:
at the very moment reality hesitates to remain reality.

Let’s imagine your next visit:
What would you like to cross? Share your mirages with us!

And I already know what’s waiting for you after this little bath…

Pure happiness.

Two artists. One shared love of colour. Two radically different artistic approaches.

Last Saturday, during Monica’s opening, we discovered the delicate poetry and thoughtful refinement of her work. On July 26, we’ll welcome Anthony for our Arty Lunch in Music, where you’ll experience his instinctive, generous and vibrant creative universe.

Two worlds. One exhibition. A fascinating dialogue between sensitivity and spontaneity, reflection and abundance.

Our summer exhibition is not to be missed.

Joy. Colour. Profusion. Generosity. Pleasure. Sharing.

Come and discover these unique artistic voices and the energy they bring together. .art

Introducing the second artist of our upcoming exhibition: Anthony Gralhien.

We first encountered Anthony’s work through the launch of Occino Luxembourg fragrances, for which he created the packaging. Anne instantly fell in love with his universe—and I soon understood why.

What drew me in was the vitality of his paintings: the freshness of the gesture, the exuberance of colour, and the way he transforms flowers and landscapes into vibrant, living compositions. Trained as a designer, Anthony observes nature with great attention, building his works through layers of colour, movement, and instinctive marks.

His paintings subtly evoke both Matisse and Hockney, where abundant nature intertwines with architectural elements with vivid colors—a reminder of humanity’s place within a world that remains beautifully wild.

We are delighted to present Anthony’s work at Subtile and to share these energetic, flourishing landscapes with you.

Join us for the opening breakfast on June 20th, in the presence of the artist. The exhibition will remain on view throughout the summer.

We are delighted to welcome Madrid-based artist Monica Pascual Velasco to Luxembourg — an artist whose creative strength and generosity are truly one of a kind.

We first met Monica several years ago in Madrid, where we had the pleasure of visiting her joyful studio. I was immediately struck by the positive energy that filled the space — the kind of place that leaves you feeling uplifted and inspired. Vibrant colours, beautifully balanced compositions on linen canvases, and an infectious sense of optimism define her artistic universe.

While her early work explored the use of spray paint in a distinctly “funky” spirit, Monica’s practice has evolved into a deeper exploration of emotion and human connection. At the heart of her work lies a desire to share the feelings experienced during the creative process. Encouraging and benevolent words are often woven into her paintings, becoming an integral part of the visual experience.

A multidisciplinary artist, Monica explores colour and composition through both painting and sculpture, inviting viewers into a contemplative journey. Her subtle compositions guide the eye effortlessly across the canvas towards uplifting messages, while the soft, playful curves of her sculptures can evoke irresistible, ice-cream-like forms.

Monica Pascual Velasco will be joining us in Luxembourg for the opening of her duo exhibition with Anthony Gralhien.
