🚨 Clarification and Information Regarding FD&C Red #3 (E127)

Recent regulatory actions concerning FD&C Red 3 (E127) have led to some confusion regarding its current use and status in existing products.

The restriction on FD&C Red 3 (E127) applies to the future production and formulation of products containing this ingredient. Specifically, manufacturers are required to cease the use of FD&C Red 3 (E127) in the creation of new products following December 31, 2026. However, this action does not extend to products that were manufactured prior to this date.

All other color additives and dyes remain fully compliant and unaffected, and may continue to be manufactured, distributed, and sold without change
Accordingly, existing inventories of products containing FD&C Red 3 (E127) may continue to be distributed, sold, and used until such supplies are exhausted, provided that such activities remain in compliance with applicable regulatory provisions. The primary objective of this action is to phase out the ingredient from ongoing production, rather than to require the immediate withdrawal of products already in the marketplace eliminating unnecessary loss and waste.

We are actively working on reformulated alternatives to replace existing FD&C Red 3 (E127)-based products and will announce updates once development and testing are complete.
