A gift that gets used every day!

My brother loves his birthday present — one of our PNE pen pouches — and now uses it with his diary every day as he fills in bookings for his business while he’s on the go. No more scrabbling around for a pen when his phone is already in his hand!

When we first started making our pen pouches, we had no idea how popular they would become. They really do make a great gift. After all, isn’t it much nicer to give something that is useful as well as attractive, rather than simply adding to the “stuff” we all accumulate?

And, as always, there’s added value behind every one. Each pen pouch is handmade by members of our sewing team who are deaf, giving them the opportunity to earn an income and contribute towards supporting their families.

They may look simple to sew, but simple things are often the hardest to get right — there’s nowhere for mistakes to hide!

Can you spot the little clips in the photo? They help our makers learn how to keep everything straight and achieve just the right amount of elastic tension. It’s an important quality-control point, particularly because the black elastic and the coloured elastic can have slightly different tensions.

We’re always trying out new designs and fabrics, so whether you pair one with a plain diary cover or one of our beautifully patterned textile covers, they make a practical and thoughtful combination.

Useful. Attractive. Handmade with purpose

We’re always looking for new and inspiring ways to adapt our existing products.

One such adaptation was turning our magnetic buttons into Prayer Buttons—a simple prayer aid.

Recently, a lady from Taiwan bought some for her friends. We asked her to share why she found them so helpful.

"What I love most about prayer buttons is the anticipation of drawing one from the bag. Before picking, I always pray: "Lord, please choose who or what I should pray for today." It transforms my prayer life from a routine job into a humble, surrendered moment.
Sometimes, I draw a button that I secretly hoped to avoid—perhaps a person or situation I've prayed for for so long without seeing any change. In those cases, I said in my heart, "Okay God, I submit. I know you want me to pray for this today."
It’s truly amazing how God can work through a tiny button."

Our prayer buttons are avaiilable online in the UK and from our Yangon handmade

A phrase understood in kitchens around the world—and now you can say it in sign language too!

Handmade from the inside out

What makes our journals particularly special is that they are handmade from the inside out. Each page is carefully hand-folded and then sewn or bound together by hand, creating a journal that is as beautiful and unique inside as it is on the outside.

Available in Yangon Showroom, Hla Day, She Creates and online in UK.

Did you know Myanmar doesn't have a standardised sign language?
There are about four languages in use.
At Pann Nann Ein, nine of our makers are hearing impaired, and some only began learning sign language after joining our team.
Because our work involves specialised sewing and craft techniques, we're constantly learning together—and even creating new signs for the tools, processes, and products we use every day.
It's a reminder that communication isn't just about words. It's about connection, creativity, and making sure everyone has the opportunity to belong and thrive.

Event Bag? ဗလောခြောက် အိပ်?
Banana Bag? Whatever you call it, it's a great bag!

Stylish, sturdy, and surprisingly lightweight, it's handmade from beautiful Inle cotton and finished with a colourful tassel which will make you smile.

For non Burmese speakers
ဗလောခြောက် is a letter in the Burmese alphabet, 'ဗ,' that resembles the shape of the bag!
Available online in UK or from our Yangon Showroom.
