J.K. Rowling (born 1965) is a British novelist, screenwriter, producer, turned philanthropist. She is best known for writing the beloved Harry Potter fantasy series of seven novels (originally published from 1997 to 2007), which has won many awards and become the best-selling book series in history. Her Harry Potter books have been made into a film series of the same name.
Mary Grandpré is an American illustrator best known for her cover and chapter illustrations of the Harry Potter books in their U.S. editions published by Scholastic. She has illustrated more than 20 books and received a Caldecott Honor citation in 2015 for illustrating Barb Rosenstock's The Noisy Paint Box.
