Carson Beck gave Arizona Cardinals fans — and sports card collectors — something to talk about after a strong showing in the NFL Hall of Fame Game.
The rookie quarterback completed 15 of 19 passes for 188 yards and a touchdown, posting a 125.4 quarterback rating. And when a young quarterback flashes in the preseason, the card market tends to react quickly.
That creates the big question for collectors: Is Carson Beck still a buy, or has the hype already started getting priced in?
I’d always rather have a player’s cards before the breakout performance than chase them afterward when everyone else is buying. Once the hype hits, you’re usually paying a premium.
But Beck’s market could still have room to grow. For that to happen, he’ll need more than one good preseason performance. Continued success on the field — combined with the kind of buzz that makes collectors want his cards — will ultimately determine how high his market can go.
That’s what makes prospecting young quarterbacks so much fun…and so risky.
Are you buying Carson Beck cards right now, selling into the early hype, or waiting to see more? 👇
