The Spectrum

The Spectrum The Autism-Inspired Online Community Store Our primary area focus is on commercialization within the autism and differently-abled community.

Employing a "Community Marketing" approach, as a platform - we aggregate both supply and demand from within the community - then source, create, and market related products together with members of the community - within the community, and to the public. As such, anybody can contribute towards becoming a creator, advocate, or even salesperson, as we try our best to create a win-win for everyone in

volved. A major concern among parents of children and young adults with autism (as with any other challenging condition) is future independence. We understand this rather well as we ourselves are parents of individuals with autism - or have family members who are on the spectrum. We hope that the initiatives and activities that we carry out will help those with autism to gain valuable support, and build the self-confidence needed for future independence. As it currently stands, we have witnessed very promising potential among participants, who are already earning an income from their works that we collectively curate and market. We understand that our efforts are only one part of a larger and more holistic solution that is required to address the challenges ahead for the individuals in focus. We do have some larger plans for the future, and are always seeking out partnerships with other individuals, groups, communities, institutions, and businesses to help grow our collective community further to achieve this. For now, we do what we can, and we thank everyone who is with us on this journey.

The recent illustration rotation on the Art@Thomson wall at Hospital Kota Damansara now features artwork by Lugessh Kumaran and Ryan Chee.

Lugessh's piece titled "World" is a vibrant illustration that beautifully captures a powerful vision of global unity, compassion, and togetherness. By surrounding a bright, blue-and-green Earth with a continuous circle of smiling faces linked by colorful floral garlands, he creates a heartwarming world where everyone belongs and connects in harmony. The cheerful colors and gentle expressions convey a deep sense of optimism, peace, and reassurance, reflecting a hopeful wish for a world defined by kindness, safety, and unbroken community.

Ryan's "Apples" illustration is a stunning painting that brings everyday beauty to life through vibrant reds, radiant yellows, and a wonderful play of light. By capturing two glowing apples resting side-by-side, he shares a deeply focused, energetic view of the world—turning a simple subject into a warm display of vitality, meticulous observation, and pure creative joy.

How would you interpret them? 🙂

These are just some of the featured art pieces by our neurodiverse community, available for you to view and appreciate at the Art@Thomson wall at Thomson Hospital Kota Damansara ❤ If you happen to be in the vicinity, please do drop by and have a look ❤
