Will Melasma Ever Fade on Its Own?
One of the most common questions I hear is:
“If I leave it alone, will it disappear?”
The honest answer is: Usually, no.
Melasma is a complex condition influenced by multiple factors:
Genetics — Some people naturally have a higher tendency to develop pigmentation.
UV exposure — In Malaysia’s tropical climate, daily sunlight continually stimulates pigment production.
Hormonal changes — Pregnancy and menopause can both trigger or worsen melasma.
Chronic inflammation — Sensitive or reactive skin may keep pigmentation more active.
This is why melasma often fades a little… then returns.
At Dr Kyo Clinic, our ECO3R™ approach focuses on more than lightening pigment. We aim to support a healthier skin environment by calming inflammation, strengthening the skin barrier, and improving long-term skin stability.
Don’t wait for melasma to fade. Take control of your skin.
