ROMANS CHAPTER 7 : 6

But now we have been released from the law, for we died to it and are no longer captive to its power. Now we can serve God, not in the old way of obeying the letter of the law, but in the new way of living in the Spirit.

TOPIC: SIN HAS NO POWER OVER YOU

The only way to live above sin is by living in the spirit. You can not do what is right with out the fullness of the spirit. It is as you are filled with the spirit that you are able to overcome your besetting sins.

The experience of Apostle Paul in this chapter is an example of one being controlled by fresh. When you are filled with the spirit he will give you the power to resist the cravings of fresh.

As a Christian, living in sin is a choice because holy Spirit have been given to you, to give you the desire and urge to resist sin. No true Christian continues in their bad habits for a long time because as you fellowship with the spirit, you will find yourself start hating sin. It continues until you break out completely from every besetting sin.

The problem with many is that they really have not made up their mind to come out of sin. Refuse to be a slave to sin. Give yourself completely to God by allowing the holy Spirit to control you.

ROMANS CHAPTER 6

SIN HAVE NO POWER OVER YOU

The summary of Romans chapter 6 is that, sin's power have been broken. It have no power over you anymore. You are no longer a slave to sin.

Verse 12 told us how not to be a slave to sin and that is by not giving in to sinful desires. "Do not let sin control the way you live; do not give in to sinful desires."

Desires gives birth to action. when you allow the word of God to control your thoughts, you will live above the cleaving of the sin nature. This is why you need to make the studying of the word of God a habit.

ROMANS CHAPTER 3 :20; 23-25

20. For no one can ever be made right with God by doing what the law commands. The law simply shows us how sinful we are. 23. For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. 24. Yet God freely and graciously declares that we are righteous. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. 25. For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood. This sacrifice shows that God was being fair when he held back and did not punish those who sinned in times past,

HOW TO BE MADE RIGHT WITH GOD

The above verse taught us that everyone is a sinner. Not because of the bad things we did, but because of the sin nature in us which we inherited from Adam who sinned.

And the only way to be made right with God is by accepting an inheriting a new nature of righteousness which is made available to us through the second Adam, Jesus Christ. It is as you accept him, that he gives you the power to live right and obey his commandment.

Keeping the law without Jesus in your life, is like washing a black clothes in hypo in an effort to make it white. But the nature of righteousness automatically wears you a white clothes. All you now need is to keep your new nature pure and holy by obeying God.

What this whole things means is that you, " one can't act righteous to become righteous, you live right because you are righteous.

ROMANS CHAPTER 2 :13,28--29

13.For merely listening to the law doesn’t make us right with God. It is obeying the law that makes us right in his sight. 28. For you are not a true Jew just because you were born of Jewish parents or because you have gone through the ceremony of circumcision. 29. No, a true Jew is one whose heart is right with God. And true circumcision is not merely obeying the letter of the law; rather, it is a change of heart produced by the Spirit. And a person with a changed heart seeks praise from God, not from people.

A TRUE CHRISTIAN

Going to church alone does not make one a Christian. Knowing all the scriptures without practicing them is useless. It is practicing the scripture that shows you love God.

So a true Christian is one whose heart is right with God. A true Christian is one whose character and life style brings glory to God.

ROMANS CHAPTER 1:16-17

16.For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes—the Jew first and also the Gentile. 17. This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.”

DON'T BE ASHAMED OF THE GOSPEL

Don't be ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ, because it is the power of God that makes people to be saved. Stop being ashamed of telling people about Jesus. Always find an opportunity to tell someone about salvation.

Stop resisting the prompting of the holy spirit in your heart to preach to someone. Never say the person is going to church he or she doesn't need to be preached to again. Just learn to be obedient to God whenever you had the leading to witness Jesus to someone.

My pastor shared a story of what happened to one of his son. He sent him on an errand. Beside him in the bus he entered was a lady. The spirit of the Lord whispered to him to preach to the lady, but he refused. He said in his heart, that the lady will thought he wants to toast her.

The lady stopped while he was still in the bus. On his way back, he learned that there was an accident at the bus stop the ladies stopped and unfortunately, it was the same lady that was knocked down by a vehicle and she died at the spot. That was when he realized he just lost a soul, the holy Spirit had wanted to save by him just preaching to her.

Why are you ashamed of telling someone about Jesus? This month make up your mind to win at least one soul for Christ. You can do it. Is your responsibility.

ACTS CHAPTER 28:1-10

VICTORY AT LAST

A man on a mission for God cannot be stopped until he has accomplished the mission for which he was sent for. Paul them finally landed safely on the shore with everyone unharmed.

After ship wreck comes snake bite, not just ordinary snake, a poisonous snake. But that still couldn't kill Paul.

When he arrived Rome, he was under arrest. Yet, he was not discouraged. He preached under guard. For two years, he preached boldly the kingdom of God and teaching about the Lord Jesus Christ.

In all you do, make sure to hear God. Once you do,start taking a courageous steps, not minding the storms of live. For at the end victory will be yours.

ACTS CHAPTER 27:21-26

BE COURAGEOUS

My pastor once shared with us a revelation he had. In that revelation, he was on a journey, he reached a place where the road was demarcated by a very deep pit. The pit was as wide and depth like the size of a sea. Suddenly, Jesus appeared standing opposite him at the other side of the road. He stretched his hand to him and told him to come. He said he will look at Jesus and look at the pit and in his mind he was like, Jesus can't you see this pit. But Jesus wasn't minding the pit. he asked him again to come. Then he said in his mind," I will go, he will save me if I fall inside the pit". Immediately he took a step into the pit, a road appeared and he walked on the road towards Jesus.

You see being courageous does not mean there will be no fear. It means taking a step in spite of the fear.
Even when God shows you a vision, you still need to trust him that things will turn out the way he told you, not minding the contrary situations that's working against it.

The Angel of the lord stood by Paul at night and told him not to be afraid that he will surely stand trial before Caesar. What this means is that, no matter how fierce the shipwreck becomes, they will surely come out safely. The revelation in its own didn't stop the shipwreck. That was why Paul told them to take courage cause they will be saved even though they will still encounter ship wreck.

Fear not, once you are convinced God is leading you. Be courageous, Holding God by his words concerning you. For surely, the end will be victorious.

ACTS CHAPTER 26 : 19-21

19. “And so, King Agrippa, I obeyed that vision from heaven. 20. I preached first to those in Damascus, then in Jerusalem and throughout all Judea, and also to the Gentiles, that all must repent of their sins and turn to God—and prove they have changed by the good things they do. 21. Some Jews arrested me in the Temple for preaching this, and they tried to kill me.

TOPIC : OBEDIENCE

As a body without spirit is dead, so Faith without work is dead. It is good to hear from God but we are only blessed when we obey his voice.

Immediately Paul was instructed by God on what he must do, to regain his sight, he obeyed the voice immediately.

You have not obeyed God until you have done what he told you to do. I will do it, is not I have done it. Prompt and complete obedience is key to enjoying the blessings of God.

ACTS CHAPTER 25 :15, 24-24

TOPIC : HATERED

15. When I was in Jerusalem, the leading priests and Jewish elders pressed charges against him and asked me to condemn him.

24. Then Festus said, “King Agrippa and all who are here, this is the man whose death is demanded by all the Jews, both here and in Jerusalem.

25. But in my opinion he has done nothing deserving death. However, since he appealed his case to the emperor, I have decided to send him to Rome.

Don't condemn someone who has done nothing wrong. Many people are prone to condemning people. Not that the person has done anything wrong, but because of their natural hatred towards them.

The Jewish leaders hated Paul and want him dead for no reason. They just hate him because he preaches Jesus. And what did Jesus do to them? Nothing! They hate him because he is light and his light attacks there evil dark deeds.

It is demonic to hate someone for no wrong reason. So if you hate someone for no course, is an indication there is a demon in you that the person annoys.

Hatered and envy is a demonic spirit. You should not allow it possess and control you. Stop allowing it to find expression through you.

One common traits that you hate someone, is when you become angry and bitter about good things that happens to them. If you can not recommend someone for something good you know they qualify for, is a sign you hate them.

Pray against the spirit of hatered and envy in your life. You may not know you have it, until the Holy spirit points it out to you, as you begin to pray.
